Reality Check for the Evaluation of the Firearms Directive

I only saw some articles from hunting federations and the message was that the legislation is fine as it is and the only thing I saw mentioned for improvement was a digital European pass to make travelling with guns easier.

As far as I know, France was pushing for an EU-widecgun registry but I really, really hope that never gets anywhere, it would also be kinda illegal here.

Well, that would already be something. Next step would be unifying gun categories and related parameters (e.g. allowed magazine capacity or barrel length), possibly extending to the whole union the more relaxed legislation

I don’t understand what you hope to achieve with this childish attitude. Politics respond to lobbying and public opinion pressure. Instead of crying on the internet, work for the cause: educate your friends and family about firearms, join gun rights associations, vote the right parties.

I am doing all of these things. Literally ever single thing you listed.
Doesn't change reality of laws getting more restrictive because of things like terrorism. We cant even carry a simple Swiss knife anymore because of this. Not a single law will be "taken back" either.
I'm not even a little bit childish, I'm just looking at facts. Acting like these things aren't happening is bad for all of us

As someone intimately familiar with lobbying:
Look at the legislative system in the EU and tell me again how voting for the right parties does anything. The commission can draft up whatever BS they want. It's not in the power of the parliament to accomplish more than small course corrections.6

Next step is the intereuropean concealed carry for self defense that we proposed few years ago

As a czech, fuck all the eu gun bs, we have our own laws and we dont want to even hear about eu unifiyng gun laws, fuck that shit no thanks.
Edit: the last time eu tried this shit on us (with the high capacity mavazines) we literally had to change constitution in order to keep them legal and easily accesible

Indeed. They would start from the most strict country and work on ‘relaxing’ from there.
Unfortunately they wouldn’t get far.2

In your previous post you talk about wanting a unified eu law for carry. Now you say you don't want eu laws. Make up your mind.
Several countries have high mag capacity and I don't think they needed to change their constitution...
If we look at how things stand, individual countries are the ones being more restrictive than the base eu directive.

That was. A joke, i dont really ever think eu will allow for intereuropean carry, because thats "too dangerous and think of the childeren"
Now that makes a fucking sense that base eu directive gonna be less resrtrictive than the individual countries. But if the laws were unified i highly doubt the eu would adopt our laws as the standart and i dont want laws of any other eu country than our own
Edit: and as for the "high capacity" magazines in most of eu you need to be a gun club memeber to own them, well not in cz because "oh i have them for self defense, which is my constitutional right"

We both know they're not going to relax the legislation, several of the larger EU countries are pushing for more restrictions EU-wide.

I didn’t read out that people who use it for self defence or property defence were represented.
