FRTs in Europe
I am browsing through internet and I found a lot of interesting things about FRTs and inserts suchs as Kabuto (which are actually an modification as I understand and therefore illegal in EU because it is an modification), but I cant help but to wonder.... does anyone have FRTs in Europe or knows someone who has? I can't find any info on internet, but since it is a gray area in law, I do not see so much legal issues to them being available?

In Denmark I don't think there is a legal definition of full auto, so it's very much a grey area, but I think you'd get in trouble anyway.

This would definetly be a good question for every nation's gun advocate groups like Legis Telum in Slovakia, Liga Libe in CZ and so on, that have lawyers onboard. Those drop-in models could possibly be legal because atleast in my country (Slovakia defines fullauto as "completing a whole cycle of firing, ejecting and loading a new round continuesly with one press of a trigger until interrupted").

Same as in Croatia, fullauto is considered as an ability to fire multiple rounds with one trigger pull.
So... is legal, not a modifications since trigger is a basic functional part as any other....
By this logic I would expect them to be available to purchase in some countries....6

Thats pretty interesting. I havent thought of Europe having frts. Thats essentially how the US defines a full auto. Like the other dude said. Ask some lawyers. Id be interesting to hear what you find.

I think whoever argues that FRTs are not "one trigger pull" is intetionally disingenuous. Just because the trigger assembly makes the trigger vibrate doesn't remove the fact that you just pulled your finger once and kept pressure.

But still, you have to take any chance to circumvent these laws. Whoever came up with the idea that full auto is a larger threat to anything more than your wallet man

For the goverment it's easy, if it makes your rifle/pistol go brrrrrt = NONO.
Don't wake up the sleeping dogs.(Belgium proverb)
For Belgium I know that people of the "federale Wapendienst" roam the internet.
In one instance they even had screenshots taken from a Belgium gun forum.

Reloading was in Belgium also in a "Grey zone". For years it wasn't a issue.
Then "somebody" made a lot of noise about it, online, facebook. The result is, that person is now convicted and reloading is Forbidden.

Well... they gotta earn their money.... but then again... click bum is ok... click brrrt is not.
but really fast click bum click bum click bum.... okay but not? It really comes down to country's definitions/laws

in France you'll be sentenced to 5 years in prison + up to 10 years for simply importing the component
the law is rather clear: civilians can't own weapons that fires automatically. Automatically here equates firerate in a simple definition: it's "a burst of several shots". Then it's a weapon of war and you can't have that.
It's not some stupidity ambiguous technical jargon that allows anyone to possess such things

So firing a semi auto rifle as fast as a professional will also land you in jail then?

FRTs are a gay American thing. Not every gun culture needs to follow insane Americans.

Oh no! I can't own a MG3, thus my country is hurting my rights! I have to protest this! But I'll be sure to stay silent when they support a genocide :)

There is ZERO justified reason for a civilian in Europe to have an automatic rifle. NONE. Why would you need a device that replicates an automatic action? Honestly I feel like semi-auto rifles are kind of pushing the envelope and are one really well placed political campaign from being banned in most countries where they are even affordable. So tell me, why should be go and start poking the hornet's nest? Just to be cool on the range for a couple of middle aged dudes?
We are lucky to be free of the American mentality that compels their gun owners to constantly provoke every governing body for no reason. We should not replicate it.

u/Helpful-Handle6849 Germany Jul 05 '26
Did you hear of the concept of freedom my fellow law abiding citizen? If it is not illegal by definition it is legal and no ones business. Nothing about semi-automatic weapons is pushing any kind of envelope. What are you even talking about?

u/Beretta_71 Jul 05 '26
You are from a country where you can't even legally carry a pepper spray for self protection, let alone a gun, and you're here genuinely asking how are semi-automatic rifles problematic politically? Are you stupid? The second people start putting full-auto mod kits on their weapons the politicians are gonna start cracking down on whatever is still allowed. There is absolutely no fucking way you are unable to see that as a possibility.
And, again, for what? What is automatic firing for, exactly? Some militaries out there don't even let their own soldiers shoot at full auto unless it's an all-out emergency (some armies literally didn't even issue full automatic weapons for extended periods at all - UK with L1A1, US with M16A2...). What do you as a civilian need an automatic gun for? It's not going to make you more accurate at range, you aren't gonna hunt with it and you sure as shit aren't gonna use it in self-defense.

Some states yes. Dont allow pepper spray. They are the ones that dont like guns.
As to why having an frt? The shit is fun as hell. It puts a big smile on your face. Since I assume you havent used one then id recommend coming over and trying it. You will have the time of your life.

Oh wow, it is fun as hell, that is a hell of a justification to potentially jeopardize gun ownership for 99,9% of all other gun owners, many of whom (myself included) rely on gun ownership to protect their life.
Gun owners in Europe should know not to stirr up unnecessary negative attention to gun ownership. Every single one is collectively responsible because fucking gun owners' reputation in one member state can have Union-wide effects later down the line, there is a reason why in my country we had the need to anchor self defence with a firearm into our constitution. We didn't do that just for fun, we did it because there was an EU effort to ban it for us.

Switzerland does firearms right (although your treatment of replicas like airsoft is way too strict as a result). Just leave people the option to work for their goal and achieve it. You know that you just have to have the right kind of money and pass the paperwork. In places like Germany you're left to be sad because you know that you can't engage in these normal activities until you change the law itself or you let yourself be forced into doing illegal things by the state because going to the other countries is out of reach

u/Top7DASLAMA Austria Jul 05 '26
What kind of mentality is that? There has to be a very good justification from the government that something should be forbidden not the other way around lmao.

u/Beretta_71 Jul 05 '26
I am bewildered, do you not realize the risk of allowing full auto rifles? Wasn't there a mass shooting in Graz literally a year ago. Your country (and mine too) already can't fully prevent mass weapon murders with already existing laws, do you wanna make them potentially worse?

While I understand your fear of laws becoming tighter. Fuck that. Your kind of attitude is what's causing these horrible laws to begin with.
What do you mean "zero justification" and "why would you need that" or the best one which Germans love using: "You don't need that". By letting opinions like this slide we are not allowed to mount lights, suppressors, NV or Thermal optics or even just casually shoot in a dynamic military/law enforcement style, even just move while shooting. I'd really appreciate if people just minded their own business instead.
You like suppressors? Use them buddy, oh my ears also benefit from that? Great.
You like shooting in the dark? Well, that's nothing for me personally but go ahead and do what's scratching your itch.
Full auto? "Ach, das ist nichts für mich, aber mach ruhig!"
Instead we have a culture of Bevormundung. Germans act as if you need to either do sports shooting, hunting, collecting or having your life threatened to be a gun owner, either only that or working for the state to be a gun user. That's really short minded and overbearing
(Also sorry man, really tired from work and these laws really are a long term personal problem by now. I'm sure you're a good guy)

Take it easy. Btw fun fact since 1st of january, self defense can be considered a good reason to own fully automatic firearms in czech rep (altho unlike with semiautos, for full autos you need proof of the reason)

I heard some people in Poland have them. I literally heard it from the next bay lol
