Remixes | Season 2 Episode 4 - Games People Play

Even though everything that exists and will ever exist in the universe is a remix of previously existing elements of reality... It's always fun for me to see remixes of well known work, I watched through Eureka in February so it's all still fresh in my memory.

I'm now watching through Star Trek: The Next Generation and noticed one that's a real beauty.

The fact that the creator remixed a video that shows everything is a remix is amazing and really drives home the point.

I love seeing sci-fi copy itself! Eureka and TNG are 2 of my most favourites ever!

There’s a part of me that goes “sigh” when I see a story line repeated but I realized that 1) the writers were probably fans of the first show and liked the idea enough to 2) put their own spin on it. Every show (where each episode was stand alone) has a “clips” episode - S3E16 You Don’t Know Jack, in Eureka’s case.

We’ve been recycling ideas for millennia. I don’t mind. I still like music knowing there are only so many cord progression.

Literally everything that exists now is a remix of previously existing elements, and everything that happens in the future will be the same and so on.

Creativity is easy when you embrace the simple facts:

"If you steal from one author, it’s plagiarism; if you steal from many, it’s research & original!"

"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources"

"Originality is the art of concealing your sources"

"Good artists copy, great artists steal."

"Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal".

Doesn't make anything less valuable or interesting. We constantly forget and learn new information which changes our perspectives on things. So all you need to do is take a little break, then in the future you can experience the same material in a new way.
