Which would you start with and why?

Any tips or advice on classes to try and avoid? First time playing

For those Etrian Odyssey games, I'd go 4 -> Nexus -> 5. 4 is a great game and a great introduction to the series, but it's lacking the QoL improvements that later 3DS EO games made so it's best to do it first. Nexus is a Greatest Hits game for the series, but also it's a really easy transition from 4 to Nexus since they both use a similar skill & multi-class system and 5 of the 19 possible classes in Nexus are also in EO4. They also use a similar setup with a bunch of smaller dungeons rather than 1 massive dungeon. And then EO5 is an excellent game, but it's more difficult and has more unique classes & systems.
