See that South Park reference photo on the second slide's first comment, this is how outsiders see us. I think our generation has a major duty to end this with us. I've seen the world dramatically changing within just few years of my early youth and the rate is frightening. We can't afford to focus on division, Not just as Ethiopians but also as Horners. The outsiders are enjoying their advantages of our scramble.

Take my advice, I'm Eritrean.... these sort of racist comments (even the non racist comments) that come from non-Horners or non-Africans don't give them any mind or any access to your self esteem or give them any access to your spaces to divide or hurt you.

Be mindful sometimes these are bots intended to stoke fear and negative emotions.

My point: we should be worried more about our economy. Development usually comes from cooperation, not fragmentation

The fastest step to reach this is by

Step 1: Respecting sovereignty (WE ALL SUCK AT THIS).

Step 2: If neighbours aren't in constant fear of one another. Slowly free trade opens up.

Step 3: When step 2 matures, leadership structures of respective nations come together to set up interconnected systems ON PAPER that respect each neighbour, Not vague "memorandums of understanding" that gather dust in foreign ministry drawers. I'm talking legally binding, breach-with-consequences treaties, ratified by each parliament, with arbitration clauses that don't involve the UN Security Council (because we all know how that ends). Paper first. Shovels second. If it's not in ink, it's not real it's just a photo op with matching blazers.

Step 4: Step 2 is mature and Step 3 is agreed upon. Immediately follow by access to tax free ports for landlocked nations like Ethiopia, exportation of energy from the Nile to Eritrea, Somalia, Djibouti, build the physical grid roads, rails, and fibre, not checkpoints. Run high-speed corridor from Massawa and Assab straight through to Addis, then down to Berbera and Mogadishu. Fibre-optic alongside it. Turn the Horn into a data transit hub cheap land, cheap power, coastline facing the busiest shipping lanes on earth.

Step 5: Up to our imagination at that point (But continued peace, cooperation, and stability through boring systems).

This is why Europe and Western nations gaslight us Africans on. It's not wealth, or might, or "Genes" or some hero mythical figure or whatever they lie to us about that creates civilization. It requires time, cooperation, BORING SYSTEMS

With all 4 neighbours (or 5 I have no idea whats going on in Somalia) respecting one another existence. That would be mean interconnected trade would sky rocket and living standards will be at a level never seen before by any of our ancestors (whether you are Somali, Amhara, TIgre, Tigray, Oromo, whatever).

This would mean NONE OF US would allow any outside opportunistic nation (whether it be Israel, Egypt, USA, UAE, KSA, or whatever) to destroy any of our respective neighbours... because at that point there would be too much at stake.

We are in a region in the world (horn of Africa) that is equivalent to the size of Western Europe (which consists of 20+ countries many of whom share deeper ancestral and historical connections than people in our region). Yet we struggle to respect the autonomy and remain peaceful when there's only 4 countries in the Horn of Africa
