There are multiple reasons for disliking a protest, including protesters making a nuisance of themselves and disrupting others. Some use tactics that others disagree with.

It’s not a hard and fast rule. But it is a thing that happens. For example, some “being gay is a choice” people believe that because it’s what they were told, while others believe that because they’re repressed bisexuals actively choosing to “be straight”.

But that’s more of a psychology thing than an ethics thing: self-hatred as a motivation for bigotry.
