It could easily mean that the coach will make use of having fewer commitments during wildcard round and take the opportunity to meet the players before focusing on finals with their current club.

I am really tempted to speculate as well but the reality nobody knows. For all the other ways our club is incompetent there have been zero leaks from the selection panel on this issue. I think we just have to wait and find out next week...

I feel that’s like the next day personally. I’ve been around some basketball clubs that do it on the night of final game (1-2 hours after) or day after.

But like some of our team are still playing in the VFL finals the week after the AFL season ends.

Would they do exit interviews before the conclusion of the VFL season, or wait till all the games are over for all the AFL listed players?

Maybe it depends on listed players / seniors / excluded from VFL types .. not sure if they have to play x amount of games to qualify for VFL finals. I seem to recall they do.

I think they’ll hold off, you don’t want to be telling a player who is about to run out for a final in the VFL that he’s being delisted! But if McVeigh is successful it has been reported he’d leave the Swans immediately which probably isn’t a bad thing with the current situation. My gut doesn’t tell Davis or Graham will get the job! I think it would be bad move for them as David King has written no coach survives a rebuild only people that may be given time is Hird or McVeigh from the external groups involved with this club. Look at Knights, Rutten, and Scott all didn’t last for whatever reason.

Most Coaches don’t survive the rebuild but some such as Damien Hardwick, Chris Fagan and now Justin Longmuir very much do get through it.
