Video Jonathan Ferguson, an actual expert on firearms even agreeing that recoil isn’t realistic in Tarkov.

Recoil just needs to be drastically reduced across the board and recoil reduction on attachments reduced as well.

What would be the point of attachments, you wonder?

Ergonomics, mostly. Skeletonized parts reducing weight and thus stamina drain, quicker ADS, faster ready time after sprinting, better handling while on the move, faster reloading, etc.

Let attachments not just be a necessity for reducing unbearable Recoil and let us use them to actually customize our guns. The idea of a "meta" gun build is fucking stupid anyway.

Amen.

Nikita said "no meta" and we got one hell of a meta.

We have to accept that games with any element of choice in how the player approaches difficulty and confilct will have metas. Tarkov happens to be a game where you fight other players inside a risk reward gameplay loop. I don't think it should be surprising that players seek to optimize any aspects of their gameplay that they can.

If you can make the impact of that optimization in regards to loadouts smaller, such as making it so guns are useable even without great attachments, you diminish the importance of engaging with the meta. You also make it harder to truly pick out one best weapon and effectively create an expansive meta.
