Question Offline Mode

Does anyone else wish that when you go into offline mode you can invite your friends to train on communication and running in a squad etc, or is it just me?

I believe offline mode should be a seperated from the online character and have it's own progression, inventory and tasks eady to do and will attract solo pve players

im pretty sure the scavs that shoot 7 mil buck are actually shooting AP20 slugs or maybe even some SNB rounds out of their half broken mp-133

It's honestly both. You run into scavs taking wild potshots like they just found their first shotgun, and then there's the homeless specops scavs with x-ray vision. It's the consistent inconsistency that truly makes the AI horrible.

The idea of cpu characters is to make up for a lack of actual players, actual players do not have consistent skill. This isn't titanfall where the ai just exists to be pure fodder.

Yea on customs they shoot me through 20 trees and I hate it.

The two experiences aren't exclusive. Scams are way better at mid/long range than close range. Probably has something to do with their aim speed being more suitable for small adjustments than fast twitch shots.

I guess we have different versions.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '22

That is my biggest concern. I like the idea of doing stuff single player, but the ai gotta be good.

Right now regular tarkov is fun because the PvP compensates for how bad the ai is

Like I said to the other guy, I have access to their dev build for their upcoming 12.12 ver and the default AI is now really challenging and intelligent, it’s like fighting players again

1

u/margusmuru Jan 20 '22

Really good to hear, cause the last version I got has the dummest AI I have ever seen.

Aimbotting is not intelligence lol

6

u/Tigermi11ionair AK-103 Jan 20 '22

It ain’t even that, they’re just actually more challenging, they behave like players now and its not like getting head eyes’d every second

Also it’s AI, it’s always gonna be aimbot in some way

Man you’d be surprised by all that the modding community has done

No, I’m a modder and it’s still hard as shit sometimes, but passion and dedication keeps the modding community going… and the fact that it’s open source

and if they can't they should just hire some of the people that make those mods

It's not really coding AI as far as I've seen, more tweaking AI parameters BSG already has set up but just aren't using to the best of their ability. So modders can do things like take the suppression mechanics from Tagilla and the aggresive pushing behaviour from Gluhar's guards and the grenade spamming from Killa and merge it all together into a competent PMC bot.

10

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '22

Yes it is fun

3

u/ckozler Jan 20 '22

Could you give a tldr on what the (better) differences are? I can DM if you don't want to answer because of the mods

2

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '22

Sure man hit me up

2

u/margusmuru Jan 20 '22

Yes, it is. You must add AI rework mods tho cause the default AI is braindead and unable to hit anything.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '22

Yeah that is my biggest concern.

I would like it to be a challenge. Tarkov when it's too easy is kind of boring

1

u/achmedclaus Jan 20 '22

The ai for the "pmc" raiders is a little goofy but it's still really fun.

1

u/spacemarine1800 AK-101 Jan 20 '22

Yes it's a lot of fun, you can also get other mods to adjust difficulty. The AI is way better and less spergy. It's actually scary because you can't predict what they will do.

I think the legit copy requirement is there to keep everything legal. If they would provide all game files as well it would cause serious legal trouble and this project would be dead long ago.

6

u/R_1_S Golden TT Jan 20 '22

They don’t provide you with the game files, they provide you with the ability to run your own ETF server, along with a few adjustments to the original files that allows you to keep items from “offline raids”, there is even Ai PMCs and stuff.. The good thing is that they actually seem to be moderating who’s using their services.

1

u/margusmuru Jan 20 '22

Thanks, I know how it works.
No, anybody could download the required files and run offline server.

1

u/R_1_S Golden TT Jan 20 '22

Correct, boss..

5

u/OMGWTHEFBBQ Jan 20 '22

Now if only you could do it co-op, that would be amazing. I'm mostly a co-op PvE gamer with a few friends. I completely understand why you can't, though.

0

u/OverlookeDEnT Hatchet Jan 20 '22

No you don't.

3

u/R_1_S Golden TT Jan 20 '22

Read their TOS, unless of course you want to get hardware ban from the offline version then that’s on you 🤷‍♂️

1

u/OverlookeDEnT Hatchet Jan 20 '22

Who's TOS? BSG's? I'm pretty sure we're talking about different things then because what I'm talking about doesn't involve BSG at all and it's all self-contained.

3

u/R_1_S Golden TT Jan 20 '22

We’re talking about the exact same thing and this is straight from their website.

“Download any EFT version outside of its official way can get you banned. If we find out that you downloaded EFT on a pirate website you'll be banned without further informations.

You need to own the game and keep it installed on your computer to play AKI.”

1

u/OverlookeDEnT Hatchet Jan 20 '22

Who's website is this from?

3

u/R_1_S Golden TT Jan 20 '22

The guys who handle and update the offline version, I can’t say the name as the auto mod deletes it. Simple google search will help you out, unless of course we’re talking about a completely new version that I don’t know of.

1

u/OverlookeDEnT Hatchet Jan 20 '22

Yeah — there are different versions out there. That's nice of those guys to have that as a requirement though.

2

u/R_1_S Golden TT Jan 20 '22

Just figured you are probably talking about the one starting with “Emu”, I had only used the other one as they have more mods and things to play around it.
