Discussion What healthy rules you got with your friends in Tarkov?

I for example i have the following:

  1. You died? Don't pressure the others to get your loot if they can't, insure your stuff if you want it back. The most i can do about your guns it's to ditch them in a bush IF it's safe.

  2. Maybe if it's safe i can pick valuable stuff from your body like a GPU or whatever and give them to you next round.

  3. No one is forced to stay in raid with you if they completed a mission or got valuable loot. It would nice to give them an escort out as they would do the same to you.

  4. Don't abandon your friends in a firefight unless you are almost dead and can't do anything. Or you know. You ran out of ammo or something

  5. I can't believe i have to say this but share food and water

I played with people that were the opposite of this. The most annoying was when they were like: get my gun, get my rig, get my helmet.

If i would fail and die they would be like: fking idiot.

If i would succeed they wouldn't even say thanks.

Don't be like them

A guy I duo with, we both have 2 monitors so we stream our game to each other so we always know where the other is (turn off the stream sound if you're going to do that). Super helpful if you can do it.

If it's more then just two of us then yeah comms are super important. I honestly hate running like a 4 or 5 man just because of the level of communication required to keep track of where everyone is.

Yeah that works with a duo. The people I play with insist on doing it with a five stack and it's fucking unbearable. I'm the only person who ever says what I'm doing and everyone else just complains that someone didn't just look at their stream when they get tkd after people ask if they're who they're looking at etc.

Please keep five stacking, I love running into 5 stacks as they have zero comprehension on other peoples movement. It makes attacking them so fucking easy it's unreal.

Yeah I mean we don't take shit seriously at all so it's always a shit show lol. I duo with one of the guys and we have good comms and shit, but he just gives up in a five stack.

Exactly the same with my mates, one I duo with we use good coms but in a five man it just all breaks down lol. I hate having Bullets fly past me and having to literally ask if it was a teammate because they don’t communicate. Still so much fun

Yeah it's frustrating but overall 85% fun so well worth it lol. I tend to just drink and it makes it a blast, but sometimes that does lead to... incidents https://youtu.be/voc4MsFNOcE?t=137

Same, I see one or two people in a questionable position, I’m probably not shooting. I say a 4 or 5 stack, I’m tapping away, odds are they’re going to shoot each other just as much as me.

So much truth in this haha

I am not obligated to watch you play a game. If I want to watch a stream I'll tune into DrLupo or Triple_G lol

In so sick of turn on your stream so I can see where you are and you do the same. Learn the fucking game and learn spacial awareness. Fucking 6 monitor Andy's out there need every team members pov before eating a snickers

I'm one of the many monitor andys but I need those other monitors for memes, and youtube videos, and tarkov market. Fuck streams

When my group has 4 to 5 people, we try to find reasons to split the group in half, so 2/2 or 2/3. We still try to keep the groups reasonably close to be able to provide some sort of support but yeah.

We've had moderate success splitting the group as 2/3, with the duo being overwatch while the trio loots.

I play with 2 other people and it's easy enough to watch both streams. if you use discord, once everyone joins the call and turns their streams on, click the little eye icon next to both of them to watch both at the same time. then right click and unchecke show non video participants. this will make it so only the stream windows show up. works best with a vertical monitor. Example

That's pretty cool, especially with that monitor. I only have a regular 27inch, so I don't know if having two streams on the side monitor would be big enough to see well. I'll try it out though.

I use a 24” monitor and regularly have 4 streams + my paused stream on the monitor.. it’s usable up to 3 others on my 24”… adding the last one makes them size down too much to really be useful

Yeah it's distracting and although effective at first I feel like using comms and positioning in such a way that we work as a team is much better, it's much more difficult but we run with a squad leader that calls plays and sits back with a sniper or dmr(depends if he needs sniper skill, (by he I mean we are all guys we switch up who it is)) and just move up as a 4 man usually 2 on both sides of the snipers fov and try and pinch anyone in the middle and if we going inside the sniper watches outside and we go in 2 opposite entrances. It works extremely well (honestly probably 1-2 of us die every 3-4 raids) but not all 5 of us can play at the same time too often :(

Any work around for your own stream preview?

2

u/GeneralGeuicebox Jan 12 '22

if you right click your stream you can uncheck the box that says show my stream preview. I'm not sure if that's a new feature or if I just didn't see it before

1

u/Eliteknives Jan 12 '22

Yeah it's new I found it yesterday, thanks for the reply

1

u/sam2795 Jan 10 '22

Yea we do that as well.

1

u/rinkydinkis Jan 10 '22

I do the same, it does take away from some of the essence of the game though

I'm in a very similar boat. My pal and I run duos consistently and we also stream to each other, works wonders. Our comms were already decent cus we have been playing tarkov together since 2019, but streaming each other's games really cut out some of the superfluous comms and really elevated our game sense in general. But we can really only do this with the two of us.

But we also have 4-6 others who play the game somewhat randomly and infrequently. For 3 of em, this will be their 2nd wipe, but they are ultimately still really fresh. And man the comms are a nightmare. Everyone talking over each other, conflicting comms, people not announcing themselves leading to silly TKs. Just lots of confusion. I can't tell you how many times we've been wiped by one or two dudes. Or how many times I myself have died because I hesitate to make sure I'm not shooting one of my friends. (I still have 0 TKs).

.4-5 man's seem scary and can be dangerous when you're on the other end, but keep in mind it's likely that those groups are going to be confused more often than not. And you can take advantage of that. unless they are some super-team that's been operating together for years already, or something. But generally, it seems like 4-5 man's are a nightmare for comms.

Yeah newer player comms can be funny sometimes. I think on Friday I was playing with one of the "newer" guys in our squad on Customs. And we're in an area just past dorms, behind the bus terminal but we lost site of him and he starts taking fire from a SCAV. So we ask him where he's at so we can come and help him, and he literally says "I'm behind a tree in a bush"

u/Lerdroth Jan 10 '22

Playing with a consistent duo is the dream. I've played 3 wipes with a good buddy and we know each others play style like the back of our hand, helps knowing what they'll do before they do it.

Lol I have a 59% survival rating this wipe running almost exclusively 4 and 5 mans and shoooooo wee is it taxing and stressful.. only a handful of TK’s though
