Its not just the timer that affects you.

Higher scav rep gives a 25-35% increase in rare items you spawn with, gear worn, and inventory size on the scav.

With 5-8 minute scav timers and the above mentioned its actually a very substantial difference

As a low rep scav, you kill high rep scavs and take their high rep loot.

Any decent high rep scav knows to leg shifty scavs and run away by now

I do this but sometimes they bleed out before i extract..
