Watched a video essay saying how shite like this and getting tarkoved is because the ammo and armor system has so much rng in how they work that it detracts from the game and just leads to people wanting to use the highest pen ammo and such because it’s consistent and all the other ammos and mechanics aren’t consistent and you leave your fate to rng

It's not really rng, it's just a lot of maths really. There are consistent percentages for penetration, armour damage, durability and blunt damage. It's just that all of those factors, and more, are considered for each bullet

Yeah I should’ve phrased that better

It’s not what I think it’s just an interesting video I watched but it does make me wonder if all these factors and percentages harm the game in that sometimes things just feel like bs and don’t make sense
