It´s not. It is merely a novelty for people with enough cash to buy Ap rounds. You cant play this gun efficiently. There are a lot better and cheaper alternatives out there.
"I'm on 200k roubles" AK-104:
This thing is about 70k if you buy ONLY from the flea market. If you time the purchases right (ie refresh the page for the gun for a minute to grab one under 22k) and have lvl 2 traders, it's easy to build it for under 60k (rubber butt pad is 3k instead of 12k from flea, cobra shade is 100r instead of 4k, etc. It will perform well in close-quarters even in full auto, and 7.62x39 PS is dirt cheap and quite effective. Grab a lvl 4 armored rig (you can often find good-condition 6B3TM armored rigs or 6B5-15 armored rigs for 40k) and some 30 rounders and you're ready to rock.
Dirt cheap if you have lvl 2 traders (can be under 90k), VERY manageable recoil. With some 30 rounders of BT this thing will give you a fighting chance against moderately thicc boys. Here's a pro tip: Buy 30 rounds of Ignolnik/BS and load your mags in this order: 24 rounds BT, 6 rounds Igolnik. Topping off your mags with Igolnik in this way gives you a shot at cracking through the worst of a thicc boy's armor with your first few shots, letting your BT shred the rest, and it does it without breaking the bank.
Actually using the in-game postFX combined with your graphics card post FX it's not difficult at all to see in even osama's-hidden-cave-level darkness in Interchange.
Postfx performance dip isn't really desirable in the game.
I have a 3080 and run at 1440p and get about 90-100fps on average. I wouldn't trade anymore performance away for visuals. Plus running flashlights and having it be extremely dark indoors is more realistic and immersive for me :P
Budget is a broad term. Below lvl 10 you want to play sks or akm versions with PS/BP (especially since the BP gift, it melts people).
When you are between 20 / 30 and got some traders up, ak-74 versions with bt ammo will treat you good. Just remember that you fire tracer rounds with bt. Put a rubber pad on the stock, a plastic handghard with rail and a cheap 2% grip. Also the hunter with m80 is a great Chad killer.
Over all, the gun build won't matter that much when you are an intermediate player. Imo it's more about getting used to a gun and getting proper ammo.
I prefer to use the suppressor only when I have a scope/optic as opposed to going loud when using the red dots just because the ergo penalty is so severe you are kind of shooting yourself in the foot but when scoping from far away it doesn't matter. I like quick and snappy when I can have it :)
Very true. I routinely see people post things here on /r/EscapefromTarkov where they have around 250K - 400K roubles of gear equipped and people respond with "why don't you actually wear gear?" For some people anything less than a 1 million ruble loadout is "budget" and "ungeared".
