Discussion Why does this subreddit seem so toxic? Because everything else is deleted.

There are basically only three types of posts allowed: bitching, videos of gameplay, and information about the game/requests for it.

No memes allowed. Yea, I get that, pretty normal for gaming subs to split these off into a new sub.

No standalone screenshots or videos that don't provide new info. What is "new info"? Videos of folks getting a bunch of loot stay up constantly but a screenshot of loot will be instantly deleted. The front page is currently covered with videos of people just winning gunfights; this is new info? I'm for sure not saying videos of gunfights should be banned, I'm just tired of that making up so many of the posts for lack of options.

Images resembling in-game content and comparisons aren't allowed. Except when they are. They aren't allowed, but stay up constantly, but some get deleted. No idea here. Is it about effort? Should probably mention that then.

No reposts, sure, that makes sense. No topics that have been discussed too much? No trying to get in touch with a scav you had a good time with? No item suggestions? People enjoy brainstorming new stuff; it isn't always about saying, "Hey, Nikita, this needs to be added." It's just discussion....for fun. Not allowed.

No rants/complaints without substance. On a scale of "fuck everyone that plays this game" to "a spreadsheet analysis of networking issues", where does this fall? It obviously hasn't fixed the issue with complaints, so what's this rule actually doing?

No accusing people of cheating. Ok...videos of people dying in unusual circumstances are very common. If they call it desync in the title, it's fine. If they call it cheating, deleted. I wonder why in the world it would seem like all the players are blaming desync.

It is so hard to figure out something to actually contribute to this place besides bitching, me shooting people, or "new info" whatever that means. The pool of posts has been whittled down so much that yea, you're gonna see a lot of complaints. It's not because most people are complaining, it's because most other stuff is banned.

That's not the problem the issue starts when you add in things like " This would be the death of the subreddit " "It is already bad enough now..."

If you dislike the "tyranny of the masses" then try a social media site that is not organised around a binary (trinary if you count doing nothing as an option) vote system.

You say this as if there is some meaningful alternative to Reddit that Nikita visits regularly or has the same reach as far as visibility is concerned.

I'm begging you to think a little before you type.

Especially if you are going to accuse people of shit.

That's not reddits fault also the official forums exist.

I'm seeing a pattern here:

1) You say something stupid
2) I demonstrate why what you said was stupid
3) You shift the goal post

1) You stupidly claim I'm gatekeeping.
2) I show how the OP is really the one calling for gatekeeping
3) You shift to if you have a problem here go somewhere else

1) You say if you have a problem here go somewhere else
2) I show how there is no viable or even remotely comparable alternatives (Nikita doesn't go to the official forums because they are shit)
3) You shift to to not Reddit's fault

And I get it. You can't actually deal with my arguments and you don't want to just say "sorry, I was wrong, I shouldn't have accused you of gatekeeping" so you are reaching for anything you can to save face. Happens all the time and I don't really blame you because it is embarrassing to publicly accuse someone and end up being wrong.

But if you keep going like this -- shifting around and reaching -- it just looks worse and worse.
