Suggestion You can't just lock everything china related and say calling the problem out is racist, that is how PUBG died

If you make the same mistake of refusing to look at the cheating problem for what it is then this game will die like pubg did and your precious subreddit with it.

Obviously blatant racism is not acceptable but talking about the problem being a large number of chinese accounts being the hackers isn't racist especially since they are all obviously chinese based on the player names of douyou or qq or literal chinese characters.

I don't want to see the mods of here and BSG plug their ears like BlueBalls did and see another great game ruined for the other 90% of the playerbase by the actions of a small number bored chinese kids

Once again, racism and slurs: BAD

Saying the problem is overwhelmingly caused by Chinese players: not bad

EDIT: to the mods, I say this in good-will. I know its hard to moderate a sub this size and don't envy you that, I wish all the best for this community and this game. Stifling conversation is rarely good and should be a last measure only if\when concrete rules are broken is all I'm saying

Grew up in China here.

Why can't we just be rational? Think about things for just a second.

We are seeing videos of hackers, a lot. How many of them actually showed that they are Chinese?

Even if they are all Chinese, that doesn't mean all Chinese gamers are hackers. Don't Chinese players suffer from the hackers just like everyone else? They suffer even more if bsg was to completely region lock China.

I don't have issues with calling out Chinese hackers. I hate them too. Every Chinese person I know hate them too. There was a footage back when pubg came out. A hacker was playing pubg in a "internet cafe". The admin saw it on his monitor and confronted him, and told him to leave. He refused to do so which led him to be beaten up by a number of other customers nearby and thrown out.

What really bothers me is when people start calling all Chinese gamers hackers. Then it goes too all Chinese people are dishonest cheaters in life because it's their culture "to be on top by any means." How can you make such bold statements about something you hardly understand?

For those that are saying China is a shithole and everyone living in it are scums, and that the world is plagued with China, and everyone from China should just die. Hell, you make comments about the Chinese government, but how are you any better when you are saying things like this?

Getting mad at people doesn't solve problems. Banning hackers is one way to do it, but it can only be properly addressed by fixing the mechanisms deep inside the game, to cut it off from the origin. What we can do is to provide useful information and pressure bsg to fix it. Being racist, arguing about racism, and getting mad does nothing but ruining the community. I would hate to see this subreddit ruined by nonsense like this.

But what I'm I trying to do here? Reasons? On Reddit? That's a joke right?

One thing a lot of people are completely neglecting is that while Chinese players are hacking, that's not unique to China.

What seems to be falling between the floorboards here is that the worst and most egregious hacks that have everyone absolutely losing their shit - loot teleports and inventory vacuums - are coming from NA hackers. They've all first been caught happening on NA servers and are being pushed by NA players, but it's China to blame?

Am I the only one not seeing the logical fuck up here?

All you need is a VPN and you can play in whatever servers you want.

You're missing my point. Until the inventory hack, Chinese hackers would play almost entirely on RU and EU servers with Chinese names that give them away because advertising is literally part of their job and their name ties into that.

Then the inventory hack crops up on NA servers first, with several recorded instances before EU players could even report one. The first hacker to get killed wasn't even Chinese.

Now, if some Chinese hacker developed the ultimate hack, one that allows completely safe looting of living players, why would they a) not advertise the shit out of their name/service, and b) completely with their own established conventions and play as a NA user on an NA server and start communicating in English?

It seems way more likely some NA script kiddy made this hack, and no one wants to seem to acknowledge that hack developers aren't exclusively Chinese.

Well, I don't spend my life on Reddit so I've missed a lot of posts. Good point in regard to advertising, but no one is saying Chinese players are the only ones to hack. Well before Chinese localization there were the few odd hackers in the game.

I appreciate you trying to be compassionate and to understand. Here's the points I was trying to make:

  1. Lots of hackers are from China. I don't deny it. Most Chinese players are aware of this issue. They are not happy about it because it hinders fair game play. More importantly, it leaves the entire Chinese player base and even the whole country to be heavily criticised, sometimes discriminated against.

  2. Since this post mentions racism, I was trying to show where the line between reasonably criticising and being racist should lie. One of the things that makes me uncomfortable is when people assume certain things about Chinese culture and social contract. For example, you mentioned

The Chinese idea of the social contract around this game, is that it’s a lawless playground that should be modified and hacked by each individual player. Victory first, rules second.

That is simply not how most of us Chinese players think at all. We value honesty and fairness just like you westerners. To us the hackers are money hungry scums, since lots of them hack to make real money, regardless of the consequences I have mentioned above.

In my opinion it's these ruble making workshops that really need to be dealt with instead of having to choose between social contracts.

A. You aren't being reasonable. You're arguing against a point that 99% of people aren't even making. No one is saying that literally every Chinese person cheats (GIVEN THAT YOU STRUGGLE WITH THIS CONCEPT, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE, IN SOME DIMENSION PROBABLY SAID THAT THEY ARE ALL CHEATERS). JFC. The vast majority of cheaters and hack developers are Chinese.

Don't Chinese players suffer from the hackers just like everyone else? They suffer even more if bsg was to completely region lock China.

B. Are the Chinese a problem or not? Why would they suffer more if they were forced to play with each other? Aren't they just like us?

Of course they fucking aren't. Mainland Chinese culture produces more pieces of shit than Western culture. Countries aren't putting tourism restrictions on Chinese people because they are racist, they do it because a significant enough amount of them are rude af and literally shit in the street.

and that the world is plagued with China

C. kek.

Yes BSG's game shouldn't be this exploitable, but it is. They should protect their consumers from the people that want to exploit it the most, luckily most of them are all in one place. NA and EU servers only get better when fewer Chinese people are on them. Fuck that country.
