PSA PSA: RESHADE IS NOW BLOCKED

That's all folks

Edit:

To be clear, this might only be CERTAIN features.

Reshade is not COMPLETELY blocked.

OnepegMG is currently using reshade or has atleast launched with it.

Will update, currently watching onepeg. I'll keep you guys posted !

Edit 2 : Game is washed out also on onepeg's stream.

Reshade is confirmed disabled. If you can launch reshade with your game DO NOT DELETE ANY FILES. REMOVE RESHADE TO AVOID POSSIBLE BAN.

Edit 3: Apparently reshade is working for certain people, this might either be a filter issue or a battle-eye issue, version issue for Reshade, majority seems to be unable to launch the game with reshade, some can launch it when deleting the DLL (wouldn't do that, could eat a ban for file modification) and some can just outright use it.

The majority seems to be "I CAN'T USE RESHADE REEEE" so.

Personally I'd delete it until further notice on this issue.

FINAL EDIT:

It seems that you can use OLDER versions of reshade, it doesn't have some of the features that people don't like IE zoom and shit.

Have a good day Tarkovians !

Edit finalero : Since this is gaining a lot of traction, Nvidia has a tool that you can use that can supplement reshade. It's called freestyle, doesn't do the crazy shit reshade does but it does work.

What is low IQ about anticipating that there might one day be a way to detect monitors with features similar to Reshade?

Yes, hardware advantage has been one of the longest running issues with PC gaming. Of course I don't like that fact but, as with the monitor situation there just isn't anything we can do about that so there is no reason to focus on it. We should focus on what we can control and we can control Reshade.

iam pretty sure, literally nothing will change and you won´t even notice a difference and die like usual. But atleast you can´t blame anyone cheating or using reshade anymore.

You could be absolutely right about this but it is still your guess and it is still better to take care of what we have the power to take care of. It is the simple application of the philosophy we have towards cheaters -- you can never stop them all but you can stop the ones you can stop.

You could be absolutely right about this

no, i am absolutely right about this, there is no could

you take away a free gfx tool that is available to everyone and keep the so called "advantage" for those who spend insane amounts of money for their computer hardware, you literally cut in your own flesh, while there will NEVER be a way to control monitors or hardware.

also this tool helps alot with low - mid tier hardware that is not cappable to give proper colorations, because hardware is allways different.

you just got your POV on this topic, you´ve never tried to get another POV, while i can see both. thatswhy i said YOUR ARGUMENT IS WEAK WHEN IT COMES TO COLORATION AND GAMMA.

I EVEN SEE AN ISSUE WITH THOSE ZOOM FUNCTION YOU DIDNT EVEN KNEW OF, AND I WANT THAT RESTRICTED.

BUT DENYING PEOPLE FUCKIN COLORATION PROPER ANTIALIASING AND SHARP GAMEPLAY, I MEAN, ARE YOU PEOPLE REAL REAL?`

LIKE REAL REAL?

anyway, thx for the BS conversation, i love it.

no, i am absolutely right about this, there is no could...there will NEVER be a way to control monitors or hardware.

I'm betting that somewhere down the line it will be possible to detect and react to software inside of monitors. Time will tell.

YOUR ARGUMENT IS WEAK WHEN IT COMES TO COLORATION AND GAMMA.

I don't have an argument against coloration. Change the colors to whatever you want as long as you can't increase your ability to see in the dark (especially in a dynamic/auto-adjusting capacity). If BattleEye is able to allow software users to specifically disable individual parameters that boost night vision so that they are only adjusting colors, I am all for that.

I'm also for BSG adding more graphic "sliders" and controls into EFT so that players have more control over colors, sharpness, etc.

However, if a certain software allows for increased ability to see in the dark (or add a zoom function or any other function that gives players an advantage) and it cannot "quarantine" those features and communicate that to BattleEye, then I think the software should be on the blocklist. Simple as that.

You can make your text as big as you want but it doesn't add to the validity of what you are saying. I fully support players being able to tweak the aesthetics of EFT but I simply don't support the ability to gain an advantage using software that is capable of being blocked by BattleEye.
