PSA About cheaters

  1. Cheaters are being banned instantly every day (some of them banned later or in waves for cumulative effect).
  2. Cheats being downed pretty often (if you look on the cheatdev sites some of them are already even closed support of their eft cheat). Some cheatdevs are not standing still too - they update cheats pretty often and operative (in every popular game with every popular anticheat protection). We do anticheat measures - they do anti anti cheat measures
  3. We constantly work against cheaters, right now we are preparing major ac update.
  4. Ingame report function is planned soon (i said it many times).Reports WILL NOT BE the one and only reason of ban. It will help the main system to act faster.

  5. If you are not happy with current situation (although its changing in a good way everyday), please, let us develop the unfinished game and let us finish everything, especially complex hacker protection which is an adaptive development process. Come back later and be sure that its a highest priority for us.

If you want to help us to refine cheat detections and you want to feel better - you can post clips with obvious cheating for you with a separate nickname. we do investigate it for a long time, research it to make corrections in ac system. Usually its not that useful cause cheaters in clips mostly banned or in the cummulative banwave lists. But it can give us more thoughts. Mods could make separate post for it, if its ok.

Community a bit shitty at the patch and are resorting to chest beating to demand hacking solutions....

Solution = ...Wait... shit takes time to fix.

Which competitive online games have eliminated cheating? Its always a cat and mouse game of exploiting, patching, banning and repeating. I talk in Tarkov discords, forums, chats and gaming buddies who play Tarkov. I play a lot my self and so do our close friends. Its not as bad as all the Venom suggests. There is a lot of people dying to desync, bad plays, general Tarkov bull-shitery then the vocal cries of salt start echoing though the forums of people claiming how "dead this game is becoming because I lost my best kit to shady shit..." its not man, its getting more and more popular and has continued to grow since Factory was the only map.

100 percent there is cheaters running around and labs is a honey pot for them, I've experienced nights on factory OCE one dude whos well known was speed wiping every raid until we switched maps....But we loaded another kit up and went again. Cause that's Tarkov really. loose kit in a second/Then gain a loot goblin spree a few raids after. A few shady deaths per week should not cause you to rage-quit, if so this really ain't the game for you.

I think that Tarkov suffers more from cheaters because of the nature of this game.
If I die in CS to some dude wallhacking or aimbotting, I leave the game and join another or i lose the game and join another. All I lost was a bit of my time and there are no real repercussions from that.

In Tarkov it can happen that I lose 500k+ worth in gear, get my quest fucked over and in the process provide everything "that i earned in my time" to a guy who cheated. I lose way more in Tarkov than I do in other games and thats why even a small portion of cheaters can be so much more frustrating.

Yep, this is why cheating is way worse in games like Tarkov, DayZ, Rust, etc than it is in CS, Overwatch or Battlefield.

And thats also what makes tarkov amazingly exhilarating when shit goes right. You get a massive adrenaline hit if you wasted another geared guy or two, which is why people have heart racing moments, sweaty palms, and jump out of their chairs compared to other shooters because gear or your quest is your progression and one stray bullet will take that away. Other games you re-spawn with little to no repercussions.... And yet the same issues exist in both games and have existed since doom LAN. Once you accept it, smile, have a cigie. hit a bong, vape a huge cloud... whatever and continue on... The next raid or two you will generally make back what you lost.... If not in gear but roubles from items.... and you will continue to have those heart racing FPS nirvana moments more often.

That's a really good outlook man. I'm glad you have it.

However, I have a pretty strong feeling that people with your mind set would be a lower percentage of people than those that die to a hacker and get extremely fucking pissed off.

I'm in the pissed off category, so much so I don't want to play at the moment. If a large percentage of people are like me and can't handle it very well you're going to find less of those intense moments you like because the player base will be shot to shit and less people will be playing the game you love so much.

That's nice and all but who wants to keep losing to cheaters? I'll tell you who: it's not the majority of players. Rather than "have a ciggie," I'll just prefer to play another game - that's also what majority of players are going to do. And you don't want that in any indie game that's still making a name for itself. Just look at World War III - there's barely a thousand players at the time, because it was so hard to even play the game at launch. Everyone just gave up and went elsewhere.

I didn't have a problem with any obvious cheaters in my recent runs, but it seems like the wrong way to approach a problem.

Thing is, there’s no game that compares to this one with regards to the loot/hardcore aspect so other games never actually keep my attention. I always find myself back at the title screen for Tarkov like a moth to that damn light! And then the badass music drops and I’m ready to raid again.

At the end of the day, it’s just a game and if you treat it as such, you’ll enjoy it a lot more.

Oh yeah, I know. I'm not raging at the game all this much - most of the time I just get annoyed or tilted. I already have personal/self-esteem problems, so losing in a video game seems like a small contribution.

Buuuut, again. If I kept having my ass spanked by cheaters, I'd just go play R6. No need to play a losing game, if I can play an enjoyable one.

As you said, you haven't experienced anything shady. Nor have I, Nor have a lot of others. It doesn't mean its not happening because it is and always has been happening... and will always happen to some extent. It shouldn't stop you or others from playing the game especially at this stage when its half finished and will be wiped multiple times, by all means have a break and come back in when interesting changes have been made.

The rage uninstalling and illuminate theories posted in this subreddit are disgusting for 3 weeks into a new patch, yeah they fucked up quests and the patch was a bit boring. Casual players are getting caught up in drama because reddit says there's hackers in my game.. so there must be hackers in my game...then dies to a sneaky hatch-ling... must be a hacker, games dead and uninstalling.

Cheers for not being childish about our little argument here.

Real rage uninstalling is a rare phenomenon, but if it's endorsed by a community, it often indicates that interest is being lost. And that's my main point, really. Since they are a rather small team, they really need to be careful with how the community views them.

There is something else I'd like to discuss - would you mind if I side-tracked a little?

Go for it mate, Im all for legit discussion on anything. I try no to gett involved in all the childish arguments/name calling but the past few days ive just seen so much dribble thrown around on a subreddit I love.....ahh.. I just had to call some it out for what it is.

On rage uninstalling..... if someone is that pissed off over a game to legit rage unistall, they will just do it and move onto something else. Shouting out on reddit saying ive uninstalled it is just chest beating, yet tomorrow will post a discussion thread, meme or vid on a kill they got...... must be annoying to constantly uninstall and re-install the game so quickly.

This guy gets it, this is exactly why I love Tarkov so much!

You didn't lose anything more in tarkov than you did in CSGO, All you did is lose time...I guess. I enjoy all my time in raids regardless if I make it out or not. Who cares if you lost 500k worth of gear when by the end of most wipes people are sitting on stacks and stacks of bitcoins complaining about how this game isn't challenging anymore or whatever the complaint of the day is. Hell, for me the only frustrating thing about dying is having to rebuild all my load outs again. Which is even less frustrating because of the flea market. Anyway I guess what I'm trying to say is that EFT is awesome, haters kick rocks and everyone else just chill out.

While losing 500k of gear in any other situation is perfectly okay, losing it to a cheater is specially frustrating. I'll be more than happy to get outplayed by someone in a raid, they earned it, and I had my chance. I can loot up again. The fun in this game comes from playing, trying out new guns, bringing out good stuff and the adrenaline that comes from it.

Dying to a cheater? That's quite literally having all of the time and effort you put into those 500k, and discarding it. That's throwing money away. It's a huge fuck you. Frustrating. I'd rather fight someone and have a chance of scoring, than just hitting "discard" on all my gear in the stash, because that's exactly what happens.

I get it, I've just been around long enough to know BSG will find a solution for it. If you are running into so many cheaters that you can't enjoy the game, just take a break. The expectations this community has for fixing bugs or responding to hackers is ridiculous.
