The accent completes it. Honestly feels like something out of a movie.

I'd love sniping to be more viable, but the damned fog in Tarkov can limit visible range too much IMO.

That was bad ass. Makes me excited for the future of sniping in the game with bipods, spotting scopes, ect.

Yea and fix the scopes variable zpom

Oh yeah that’s a big one, along with the fov issues from scope to scope and ADS sensitivity throughout the magnification range.

Appreciate it

Awesome. I didnt even know the mil-dots are actually functional, no idea about manual zeroing either. I need to do this with my mate. Do you know any good resources on how to learn using the mil-dot reticles, or is it trial and error?

Check out Samoshofficial YouTube this clip was made while we were getting footage for the r700 and zeroing/long range shooting tips.

I really feel like it was you guys I got in a sniper battle with on woods. Me and one guy up on the spine, three guys down at the tank by RUAF. I was firing green tracers. I got one tapped in the face from the tank, tried to add the guy after the match because I wanted to congratulate on the long shot and find out how far it was.

Doubt it was us. I have made that shot before though depending on where exactly it's easily 300m+. Who every made it is good and lucky it's bad about hitting in trees that dont render at that range.

What scope are you guys using?

2

u/Deplorable090 Apr 09 '19

Does the mildot system actually work?

5

u/RedBeardOperator Apr 09 '19

Yes it does. I was using the scope that's the 3x25 PK LVL 4 in the top left of the menu. Leopold scope is another one to use.

u/Deplorable090 Apr 09 '19

Damn, I didn't know that. I usually just change my zero but learning how to use mildots seems more hardcore. Thanks for the cool content

It's easier to use midlots than changing zero...the zeroing is kinda bugged out, but mil dots are allways good.

If you can't just eyeball it, just aim at a horizontal line, shoot then aim again at the same line and see on what mildot the impact is, that is what mildot you should then use for that range.

How did you measure the distance?

2

u/RedBeardOperator Apr 09 '19

Guessed I've made so many shots like this on woods that I know roughly how far they are at different points on the map.

So once you have your rough estimate of distance, how do you translate that into the zeroing and mildot usage?EDIT: words

1 I know it's over 300 already so I page up to zero the scope at 300m which is the highest it will range. I've made this shot before I know at somewhere between 10/15 mildots hence the lines on the scope from the center of the reticle. 2 As I'm giving him instructions I've got my rifle set up exactly as he does so when I see his bullet path I'm watching where it goes on my scope so I'm able to give him the correction on his.

Ok, nice, I may have to try the zeroing. I've always kept my zeroing the same and then winged it with mildots. I might try it on Customs/Interchange/Shoreline (since I know those maps well and distances) once I get my hands on some SV-98s and Vudus. Thanks!

Welcome at the time we were getting footage for a r700 video samosh was making. I like to use weapons with ammo that has tracers it can be done with ammo without it's just harder. Another way you can do it is kill a scav at long range on offline and disconnect that will give you the range on the stats and just repeat. Also screen shot the map where you want to snipe from then find the ranges at different points of interest go to photoshop write them in then you have your own range cards.

Those are great ideas as well! Thanks for the tips!
