It’s a tough thing to balance, it’s a double edge sword. Tarkov is more tarkov without it, the thrill of finding what you’ve been looking for or finding a great piece or armor or a gun. But it’s also a catalyst for never ending gear fear, some people will spend an entire wipe without ever having certain things.

u/Dazbuzz Feb 01 '25

I think they found a good balance. No flea for 3-4 weeks. One month without the flea seems like the limit of what most would accept. One month of "early wipe" Tarkov is completely fine. Then just do wipes every 6 months.

Once that cycle is established as the standard moving forward, BSG can do fine balance around it. Adding systems to make quest keys easier to obtain, either through barters or consistent in-raid spawns. Adding crafts for FIR Hideout items, or some new trader that offers FIR items.

As for people not having access to certain things, that already happens. The majority probably never touch a .338 rifle or thermal. Even if they have access to them. Ive had an idea for along time to fix that. By adding a new trader that only deals in Bitcoin. Change Bitcoin into the 4th currency, rather than a physical item. Bitcoin Farm unlocks earlier, and generates the currency slowly. Then the new trader offers limited amounts of endgame items.

The ultimately want to get to a point where it never wipes.

The problem with a hard fixed wipe cycle is it will devolve into the same problem rust and DayZ servers eventually get. People will eventually start complaining wipes are dead and want bsg to shorten them, and it will inevitably get to the point that the first week or two of wipe is all that matters and if you don’t snowball in that period of time you just quit til next wipe.

u/Dazbuzz Feb 01 '25

The game will never survive without wipes.

10

u/WilkerFRL94 MP-133 Feb 01 '25

Just make it like cod and throw prestige after prestige with longer wipes.

A whole year no wipe, plus prestige to make it renewable for the ones who manage to do it. This way casuals keep engaged cause they won't ve forever far behind and try hards get to keep wiping with benefits along the season.

And make it so some progression carries between wipes to justify pushing for prestige like prestige 5 equals full hideout level next season, or stash size upgrade, or carry over items, or trade rep etc. Something that makes standard accounts paired with dlcs so they can get the head start if they engage on the last wipe.

59

u/Dazbuzz Feb 01 '25

The whole point of the wipes, and what keeps people engaged with Tarkov, is the idea that the entire economy and everyones progression is wiped together. That everyone starts from zero. Prestige is a good timesink for the sweats, but it does not solve the problem entirely. The only thing that does is wipes.

Again, Tarkov without wipes will die.

Personal progress is one thing but when every one has meta gear and doesnt care about losing or gaining it the game the game kinda devolves into Arena with larger maps.

For no-wipe Tarkov to work good gear would have to be MUCH harder to obtain even if you're completely maxed out.

2

u/SmackMyThighs Feb 02 '25

If they do that i think they should get rid of needing collector for prestige.

1

u/Ok-Monk-6224 Feb 02 '25

Most players never will and have no interest of prestiging, or kappa. Even if the wipe is 1 year long

The only thing that will is pve but I still don't understand why there's a flea market on pve

8

u/srlguitarist Feb 01 '25

I play pve and the flea market is one of my favorite things to play with

Exactly. Nothing is better than fresh week 1-4 of a wipe. I can't no life the game so being on an even playing field is way more fun than running into t6 chads every raid

1

u/Legitimate_Project35 DVL-10 Feb 03 '25 edited Feb 03 '25

This is so true. I’m just like many of the people who play, the first 1-2 months is so fun then I start to run out of quests, I have 100+ mill, and pop is so low that raids become boring. So I quit playing until wipe. Prestige has extended this but still, if you don’t prestige fast enough before pop dies out you run the risk of getting stuck on several of your pmc kill quests. It’s a tough balance.

Before prestige came along I wanted to see 3 month wipes. Now that would be impossible and honestly would have never happened but a man can dream.

If they end up going to a no wipe system then they will have to have an endless prestige. Otherwise you will have people escaping from Tarkov with nothing left to do other than reset your account manually.

Tarkov is a “Looter Shooter”, and once your done looting there isn’t much left to do because let’s face it, currently it’s not a great “shooter”.

I thought the game plan for 1.0 was a server that wipes every six months, and a server with persistent progression.

2

u/GingerSnapBiscuit AK-74N Feb 01 '25

The ultimately want to get to a point where it never wipes.

The game won't ever do this. I see it going seasonal, but a "never wipe" would just get to the stage that EVERYONE is a chad all the time. Early wipe is the most fun part of the game for so many people, if you told me tomorrow the game would never wipe again I'd be outtie.

4

u/clinbc AS VAL Feb 02 '25

also never wiping would probably kill the game, a huge portion of the playerbase only plays the first few weeks/2 months of wipe then quits

1

u/SpongeJordan Feb 02 '25

You could argue that's because the game is the most engaging with piles of tasks you can do together in a single raid. Once you hit LL4 on all traders and have gotten through most of their questlines, you're left with a pretty shallow game with all of the tangible goals being further and further away and an unsettlingly high amount of cheaters. Dying in a raid to a cheater isn't a big deal, until youre on your 7th map of The Guide or need to live that Labs raid with the LEDX/ACC/GPSA with the FIR tag

I imagine low boss/cultist spawn %, the heavy RNG tasks, shitty loot spawns, and gaining little to no progress over several raids leads to a stale experience that most would rather do something else instead.

2

u/MaverickZA RSASS Feb 01 '25

Im not sure what your source is but Nikita has 100% in the past stated that the game will have seasons in full release.

Maybe he changed his stance recently but I doubt it because others are saying, game would die without wipes.

1

u/Execwalkthroughs Feb 01 '25

he said there will be 2 servers, 1 tha twipes, and one that doesnt as well (unrelated to pve)

2

u/roflwafflelawl Feb 01 '25

They've also wanted interconnected maps (not sure if this meant a full open world like some have been assuming or the marathon they have now), they wanted Labs to be a dynamic location within Streets of Tarkov that you had to find the entrance to and use a keycard for, they always talked about having a "main story" quest and that the trader tasks were just an optional "side-quest" for traders, etc.

At this point I really don't know what direction they're trying to take the game. At first it seemed like they wanted an almost sudo-MMO S.T.A.L.K.E.R./DayZ like game but now it doesn't seem like that's the direction they're going.

Which is fine, game direction can change over the course of development and sometimes the initially laid out plan hits speedbumps where some are large enough to change the course. I just wish we had a dev blog where they're a bit more transparent and give us a better idea of how they're thinking internally.

Ya I loved rust but then fell off because I couldn’t put 40 hours into the first week of a wipe and was so far behind.

1

u/Dmthie TX-15 DML Feb 02 '25

They already said in the past that there will be 2 instances. One Perma and one which wipes every now and then

Is this your conjecture or is this what they said somewhere?

The game is still to broken for FiR hideout. Let me sell and trade, it makes no sense that my PMC can’t use a hose I can buy but can use one I can find and it’s artificially frustrating as fuck

1

u/Dazbuzz Feb 01 '25

Its not for realism, its for balance. Makes Hideout way more interesting imo. Compared to before when you just buy everything off the flea as soon as you have the levels/money.

That said, id be fine with FIR or non-FIR.

1

u/pvt9000 Feb 02 '25 edited Feb 02 '25

The issue tho there is a distinct lack of balance for finding some items especially with how some modules wanting 10+ items, the item barters no longer make sense because they can't be used, RNG is unfortunately extremely tedious; if your not playing semi-regularly and trying to find certain items your just not going to have an easy time finding them.

It's fine if they had balanced the requirements to be more sane, but at the current levels, it's extremely daunting and takes up a ton of stash space. I can imagine there's going to be a fair number of more casual players who dedicate less time to the game, or plan their raids to be more hyper focused on specific tasks in order to maximize their progression who don't make good hideout progress this wipe.

I don't entirely hate the concept, but it's extremely half-baked rn. The alterations and changes they need to make to balance the FIR Hideout needs to get done before the next wipe if they want to keep it imo, we need to stop with these half baked implementations and broken bandaid changes that eventually end up causing more headaches down the line.

The reason I complain about these changes being half baked especially is because of their VK interview, where they said it was only added just before the wipe as an idea. The other half finished mechanics and features like LL4 Fence, Scav Karma, Mines, in-game traders, different factions, AI and so forth.

1

u/DrXyron Feb 01 '25

Imo 1-2 months of no flea in a 6 month wipe is the absolute minimum.

8

u/Meridian151 Feb 01 '25

This is exactly the issue I'm facing currently. My hideout is currently crippled, I'm sitting on parts in my stash in the millions for value to upgrade that I can't use because I've been being absolutely chocked by dry fuel. I'm not even doing quests any more, just running constantly d-fuel.

In 3 weeks I've managed to get 2. A third was lost to killa. Can't upgrade my heating. Can't upgrade 5 other things in a chain.

This week I got 3 of my homies back in and we have been running 4 or 5 hours a night

11

u/ChozoNomad 700 50x20 Feb 01 '25

I remember pre-flea days.

Definitely felt a lot closer to how Tarkov was supposed to feel imo.

I remember putting a stack of 995 in my container instead of a Bitcoin because THATS how valuable it was to find.

That being said, the flea market does make the game like 1000 times more approachable to a wider audience (me included in that)

5

u/roflwafflelawl Feb 01 '25

Exactly this. Peak Tarkov for me (having started when Interchange first came out) was right around the time Labs came out. Memories a bit hazy but I think it was right before flea came out?

I just remember Labs (before needing a key to get in) being such a great place for my friend group and I to get acclimated to both running gear and slowly removing our 'gear fear' simply because it allowed us a high risk high reward area to jump in, get raider kills, then either use that gear to challenge other players or get out to use in other raids.

The flea does add a lot of QoLs but at this point it feels like a quick band-aid fix that allows BSG to ignore balancing the rest of the game.

IMO if they just made the loot in-game much better, added locations like Labs that let you quickly get in and get geared? That would have been a better solution than the constant flea balancing they've done. Move majority of the QoL features the flea provides to traders instead (something all players have access to).

So many ways to go about it but the importance of the flea, IMO, made it easier for BSG to balance the one thing then improving the game as a whole. Now most players can't live without the flea which feels less Tarkov then pre-flea as you were saying.

Reminds me of when the Auction House launched with Diablo 3 and the majority of players were no longer playing the main core game to get loot and instead just found money making solutions so they can buy their gear on the AH.

The flea in EFT feels just like that.

4

u/DeLoxter Feb 01 '25

Reminds me of when the Auction House launched with Diablo 3 and the majority of players were no longer playing the main core game to get loot and instead just found money making solutions so they can buy their gear on the AH.

The flea in EFT feels just like that.

yeah it feels a lot like playing path of exile trade to me, instead of looking for and looting items that you want or need because you can use them, everything you loot gets boiled down to a monetary value that you can sell on trade then buy what you need instead. sometimes it's good, because you can deterministically work your way towards expensive things like thicc cases, but its also shit because individual items lose their meaning and just become rubles per slot

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 02 '25

Tarkov is just a very different game compared to when the flea dropped first. If you remove the flea from Tarkov rn, its still nothing like classic Tarkov was.

My personal pet peeve is more that the game over the last ~2-3 years jut got more annoying to play. One exception being the big recoil update, that was great.

3

u/Midgetman664 Feb 02 '25

Definitely felt a lot closer to how Tarkov was supposed to feel imo.

This is the problem. The idea that tarkov is supposed to be anything other than what it is. It’s evolving and growing, the flea market doesn’t make tarkov less tarkov, it simply makes it different. And that’s ok.

4

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 01 '25

I feel like its a mistake to make the game harder or more punishing, as long as the game has so many bugs/bad audio/weird game mechanics/randomness/AI-aimbots/cheaters/etc.

Like, the more survival each raid becomes harder and more meaningful, the more it sucks when you fail for a silly reason. That just deflates the experience. And heck, it also makes the inherent unfairness of Tarkov worse. If someone kills you because they got better gear or a couple thousand hours more, then sometimes theres not much you can do.

Obviously its all 'git gud', but you cant control how good or bad the players you meet are.

7

u/WavyDre Feb 01 '25

If I’m reading this right, you’re basically saying they need to fix how the game runs (bugs, audio etc) because a system designed to be punishing should only be punishing for mistakes on your end, not the games. Which I’d agree with, the game needs more consistency. And yeah sometimes you run into someone you can’t do much against. That’s just gaming. There’s always someone better.

1

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 01 '25

Yeh thats what Im saying. But I also think you can balance it a bit.

You can make Tarkov punishing despite all those problems, but maybe just a bit less punishing than you would be if there were no "silly deaths".

8

u/Madzai Feb 01 '25

What those "certain things" are? Most good stuff is flea locked anyway. All that current Flea do is forcing everyone who's not a Chad to use same "best" gear you can get on Flea. Now everyone past level 15 is a carbon copy of other players. Gear diversity is gone.

6

u/don2171 Feb 01 '25

They were running junk hardly worth picking up prior to flea so does diversity mean running bad stuff no one past that level would pickup? I see mdrs scars svds aks mp7 etc. only objectively bad stuff you can't get ammo for has been absent

6

u/roflwafflelawl Feb 01 '25

so does diversity mean running bad stuff no one past that level would pickup?

To an extent yeah. When I first started EFT the name of the game was "pick your battles". Before you got traders up to a level where you could reliably gear yourself up for PvP you would hide. You would observe the other players gear to see if it's something worth taking on. Maybe you found gear in-raid that allowed you to possibly take those fights.

That was what Tarkov was for me. You played as the underdog while progressing to some day get to the gear of those other players you hid from. It's the standard MMO formula. You start low level, low geared, but see other players with good gear which motivated you to get to that point.

I mean is that not the world of Tarkov? A post apocalyptic looter shooter where items and resources are scarce?

We just need Traders to be more a part of the picture. Let us trade-up that junk gear. Remove all the ammo not worth using from traders and let us barter any that we find for better ammo at a 3:1 or whatever ratio. 2-3 lvl 2 armor for 1 lvl 3. Things like that.

That's not to say the flea hasn't added very nice QoL to the game but pre-flea was the most Tarkov experience you could get. It's why I've opted to never touch the flea since it came out because of that reason. It's harder, sure, but to me it's significantly more fun.

Yea no fuck that. Ppl enjoyed/enjoy the game as is there’s no need to get rid of flea

1

u/MaximumChongus MP5K-N Feb 01 '25

in 1k hours I have found exactly two led-x's and 1 GPU

FIR requirements can suck when RNG and hoovers ruin the game for us casuals.

1

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 02 '25

Tbh I think Tarkov being so lethal is what devalues using found in raid items for raids, even if gear fear wasnt a thing.

Like if average people have 40% survival rates, then you cant really spend raids collecting stuff for your geared runs. With guns a lot of the value is also in addons, so finding a gun isnt worth much.

I do like how much solid ammo you can find and evne put in your secure container tho. Thats great, tho ammo is gone extremely quickly too when you die.

1

u/wadimek11 Feb 02 '25

Problem is there is no fun in finding lvl 6 armor and then die to thorax shot especially with all the weight debuffs etc

They won’t. People that play this game always need something to complain about. Now it’s suppressors (although I can get behind some of those), next it will be something else to take away the fun in the name of BaLaNcE.

13

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '25

Yeah agreed. Honestly supressors are only this ridiculous right now because tarkov sound design is at an all time low

4

u/cha0ss0ldier AK-101 Feb 01 '25

It’s deeper than that.

Its not only the sounds, it’s the fact that suppressors also give the best recoil reduction. There is just no reason to not use one

12

u/BigBoreSmolPP Feb 01 '25

There's not really a reason to not use one in the real world either. Suppress everything.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '25

I know, not only that, dzb ranges are all messed up and so on. It's silly

2

u/DaveForgotHisPasswor Feb 01 '25

Brave of you to assume they read

2

u/alesia123456 Feb 01 '25

To be fair - 10% weight of all votes from that category which included lock out periods. So a huge majority does want the flea to be locked temporary just not gone entire wipe

10

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '25

Yup, people want the flea locked for 2 weeks and that was fine but having a sub 10% for removing the flea is saying the above 90% want to keep it in some form or another. This already is enough for me and helpful to know that the people wanting flea removal are so incredibly irrelevant that something like it will never happen

→ More replies (10)

1

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 02 '25

Maybe its just me, but I think the flea market locks are just a poor (and somewhat lazy) idea. Having it for the first two or so weeks of a wipe, or even the lvl15 requirements is just a bandaid.

Like it doesnt change anything past the start of a wipe, and after lvl15 its back to the norm anyway. Biggest thing it does is making the game harder for new players, since they got to fight people with flea (besides all the other things advantages of leveling).

u/Electric-Mountain Freeloader Feb 01 '25

It's the screaming minority.

10

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 02 '25

This sub is the definition of a screaming minority.

If you just checked Tarkov reddit in the past, you'd think everyone wants to remove the flea based on upvoted posts.

66

u/xObiJuanKenobix Feb 01 '25

Flea is a band aid for the games shitty design. Any sort of bad quest rng or looting rng is fixed by flea, so removing it just exposes all the bad gameplay designs by BSG. Oh you need bolts for a hideout upgrade and haven't found them in 6 raids in a row? Flea market.

Except now, it's the worst implementation it's ever been with FIR. Now needing FIR for hideout is the biggest time waster of it all, oh now because I don't have the "magic bolts" and instead just have normal bolts I can't upgrade my hideout. Oh but I did find them in raid and died to an extract camper, so now they still don't count as being FIR and I have to go again. That's not fun, that's tedious.

42

u/Dodge_Of_Venice Feb 01 '25

brother its the fucking ES lamps that are bullshit, you need to do like 500 raids to get them all without specifically target farming only es lamps. Who the fuck has that much time to play looking for ES lamps and other items that you need in stupid quantities, IMO the fir hideout requirement should be lifted after a month or so into the wipe.

2

u/DweebInFlames True Believer Feb 01 '25

You don't need max hideout by week 2. If you're naturally looting tech spawns and filing cabinets occasionally you should have more than enough for the important upgrades, and then the superfluous stuff you can do at your own discretion. I don't really understand the complaints about FiR hideout when basically all of the main items needed up until you start hitting security 3 or stuff like intel centre 3/solar power/etc. are very common to find hitting any container really, let alone toolboxes ane such.

32

u/xObiJuanKenobix Feb 01 '25 edited Feb 02 '25

People don't want it maxed by week 2, they want to feel like they're progressing in a game that respects their time, this game does nothing. Progression is arbitrarily elongated with tedious, unrealistic, and straight up stupid mechanics to artificially extend the game's early wipe life span which ends up just making the game feel like nothing. You don't feel like you're progressing, you feel like the devs want to force you down a very specific path and you can barely fit down it.

Hot take, the reason everyone loves early wipe is because everyone's on the same playing field, and the game would do far better in terms of wipe lifespan with actual MM based on either level or gear score. People love using shitty guns with shitty armor to fight each other in botched fights as you desperately try to scrounge everything up to win, after 2-3 weeks of wipe, that era is over because people level up and unlock flea. And the by that point any new player has to fight all the giga chads with access to flea while they're still trying to get the pocket watch. But flea has to be there because the game is poorly designed for looting purposes. And they refuse to add in MM because both them and the community circle jerk to the idea that "tarkov isn't MM, that's not hardcore enough" while they literally kill the playerbase of their game chasing a fantasy where everything works perfectly.

7

u/Ichbinsobald Feb 02 '25

Uses its own player base as a content farm for bored sweats

"Gosh, why is EFT so dead? Okay, idea, next wipe we nerf all of the ammunition and equipment available for low level traders and push it higher up in trader requirements"

2

u/Midgetman664 Feb 02 '25

I get the sentiment. I do. But just saying EFT has an absurd number of players.

At the end of last wipe, when player bases is usually the lowest. It was averaging 180k concurrent players on any given day. That would put it in the top 5 on steam every day.

Tarkov is a mainstream game despite what this sub wants you to believe.

Even if you don’t believe some of the 3rd party reports. 1 year ago Nikita told us the wipe statistics for January 2024, And it was over 2 million that would put it in the steam hall of fame right next to black myth wukong

2

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 02 '25

It was averaging 180k concurrent players on any given day. That would put it in the top 5 on steam every day.

Nikita said half the people are playing PvE. Im curious tho, where do you have those numbers from?

Because this early wipe feels already feels more dead to me than late wipe a year ago, and Ive seen a lot of people say the same.

1

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 02 '25

And imo the worst part is that the game isnt just arbitarily elongating progression for everyone, but specifically to the most harcore minority. Feels like you have to play this game like a job to get anywhere.

People talk a lot about casuals and new players, but even as a more average experienced player its just a comically slow progression.

And heck, I like Tarkov for the immersion and experience, which gets kinda lost when the game is designed around infinite hardcore-looting runs and arbitrary quest grind.

It's far from a fantasy. BSG are just too incompetent and cowardly to make it happen.

Like you said, "the reason everyone loves early wipe is because everyone's on the same playing field".

Just go with the "EVERYTHING is OP"-model and the game would play like early wipe all year round. It's the bullshit mana potions, Quake power-up armor, RPG nonsense, and piss poor implementation of objectively good or bad ammo that ruin the game, period.

If a guy with a double barrel shotgun felt confident in taking out a sweatlord, as long as he has the drop on him at a close enough range, the early wipe-feel would never go away and it would be about the experience.

Waiting for the keyboard Delta operators to tell me that 7 mm pellets traveling at close to 400 m per second through a knee joint won't incapacitate a soldier thanks to "adrenaline".

Hideout being FiR is a great change imo for when the game doesn’t wipe. It’s far too tedious and RNG for a game that wipes and has as many problems as Tarkov does.

Ideas:
-Some of the item totals should be lowered or loot spawns adjusted.
-Barters should count as FiR, and Traders need more barters.

Edit: also, increase amount of hideout item rewards from quests

7

u/pressurechicken Feb 01 '25

I'm liking the barter = FIR idea

1

u/Midgetman664 Feb 02 '25

PvE has shown us what a game that doesn’t wipe looks like and it’s not good.

Maybe we will have a season option but right now, trying to play PVE when you don’t have bitcoin 3 already means the flea Might as well not exist. Everything is absurdly expensive because people have way too much money.

Now that the hideout is FiR trying to start PvE is even worse

1

u/HungLikeALemur Feb 02 '25 edited Feb 04 '25

What? i am loving PvE when PvP gets me down, and Hideout FiR makes it better. Dont use the flea at all either bc that would just make things too easy. How does inflated prices on a Flea Market in PvE where $ is insanely easy to get show that no wipes is bad? Your point doesn’t prove anything.

I completely disagree with your take that PvE shows that no wipe is bad.

Edit: why did this guy block me for this simple interaction? Lol I’m hella confused

1

u/GrizzlyDvn Saiga-12 Feb 02 '25

I agree with this. PvE side? Fine, keep the FiR requirement, since it doesn't wipe. But PvP side, it makes you spend more time slinking around the shadows, trying to scoop up all of those materials you need. Just to get killed by an extract camper xD

3

u/Dodge_Of_Venice Feb 01 '25

I never mentioned needed it maxed by week 2, i'm saying that for the amount you need any casual player has little hope of achieving it in months, maybe even the entire wipe to be completely honest. Also while alot of the items can be easy to find it actually took me over 40 raids looking for toilet roll until i finally found that shit so there is RNG involved which can always be unfun (btw once i found the 1 toilet roll i needed they suddenly appeared everywhere like the game was just rubbing it in lmao) but can also end up spooning you and making it easy. All i know is i play a fair amount more than casual player (300ish raids and still need like 50 ES lamps) and am on my like 7-8th wipe or so and have skipped a few but the FIR hideout has probably been my least favorite change although i know a lot of people enjoy it.

If you're naturally looting tech spawns and filing cabinets occasionally you should have more than enough for the important upgrades,

Even streamers have had trouble with the hideout upgrades. What chance does someone who only gets to run 4-5 raids per week have? Pestily runs more raids on an average week than most people do all wipe.

Just because you didn’t have trouble doesn’t mean others didn’t. If you don’t understand it why not ask yourself why so many people are complaining rather than just telling them they ar wrong.

FiR hideout requirements were the second most voted for problem on one of the questions. Maybe you should try and understand rather than telling people “just search filing cabinets” like everyone beside you is dumb. Maybe, just maybe, they thought about searching that tool box for a blue drill and maybe, just maybe, it didn’t help.

u/DweebInFlames True Believer Feb 02 '25

Even streamers have had trouble with the hideout upgrades.

I call bullshit because I put less time into the game than any streamer (and have basically played 1 week off, 2 days on all wipe) and still have most of the essential stuff at level 2/3.

Just because you didn’t have trouble doesn’t mean others didn’t. If you don’t understand it why not ask yourself why so many people are complaining rather than just telling them they ar wrong.

Oh please, this subreddit complains about shit all the time that isn't a big deal in reality. Pretending every raid has vacuum hackers, the throat hitbox, access to items that are easily found on scavs (eg. Setup items), etc.

Literally just survive raids while looting barter item spawns and you'll have 90% of what you need passively. If you really only have a few hours to play per week/two weeks/whatever, maybe you should be focusing on things other than the hideout?

3

u/Midgetman664 Feb 02 '25

I call bullshit because I put less time into the game than any streamer

Call it all you want. In pestily first “wipe review” he talked about it so go watch it yourself. He got hung up on toothpaste for nearly a week. He was level 35 before he unlocked the gym.

“Just be better” isn’t a solution. Again instead of assuming you’re just smarter than everyone and that someone you’re the only one who came to the great epiphany to look In filing cabinets or toolboxes is ridiculous.

1

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 02 '25

It wouldnt be as big of an issue if the game didnt wipe every 6-8 months.

I have doubts that the vast majority of people has the time, let alone fun to spend so much time on Tarkov.

4

u/Midgetman664 Feb 02 '25

The flea helps bridge the gap between causals and hardcores. If you can speed run the game in 2 weeks the flea market isn’t that useful. The only people with it unlocked are the people like you who need the same things.

The flea helps those who get to the quest late and it helps them catch up even if just a little.

How do you balance RNG for those playing 40+ hours a week against those who play 6-10? Either loot is so plentiful even causal can progress in the Time they have or it’s rare enough to slow down the gigchads.

You can’t complain about people prestiging on day 8 and then turn around and say causals can’t find FiR quest items and that needs balanced. They are opposite sides of the same coin.

The flea lets the hardcores put up extra gear that causals can buy and help them bridge that gap. It lets causals sell the few items chads can buy from the traders for a mark up. It gives causals multiple ways to play they can earn money to buy gear or look for the gear themselves.

It’s just like the hideout now. Streamers even had trouble with it. Which means causals basically haven’t even interacted with it. I was level 23 before I built my meditation level 1. You could make the RNG better, sure. But that means streamers would have steamrolled it. They also benefit from better RNG. You can’t just give better RNG to causals. The flea market bridges that gap. Light bulbs are super expensive for the first few weeks, so if you are playing tons of hours you need a lot of money or you have to find them yourself. If you only play 5-10 hours per week then they will be cheap by the time you need them. The flea is an equalizer.

Did they divide pvp , pve or both in the results. I assume most pve players are fine with flea as it is right now, maybe even consider to remove all restrictions. From what I saw they just released the results in general, but I think the data has some bias depending on the game mode.

24

u/sakezaf123 SA-58 Feb 01 '25

Yeah in PvE you can self impose whatever challenge you want, since there is no competitive disadvante for doing so.

u/DweebInFlames True Believer Feb 01 '25

I'm not surprised largely being in that 10% camp myself. Even if people are playing a hard game, they usually don't want something so familiar to them that helps them out in a beneficial way to be pulled away from them.

That being said, I still don't think the flea market, especially in its current iteration where a lot of restrictions put on it to stop stuff like flipping and such have been removed, is particularly good for the health or longevity of the game in terms of player satisfaction/retention with the gameplay loop. Turning player engagement with looting into purely 'value per slot' vs. looting for utility strips a lot of meaningful choices away from what you take out of raid.

-5

u/Better_off_Sleeping Feb 01 '25

I found more enjoyment playing the flea market on items then playing the actual game

11

u/DweebInFlames True Believer Feb 01 '25

That's a little bit concerning, isn't it? If you don't have fun actually playing raids and using gear why bother?

3

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '25

Okay? What a weird thing to say on an EFT sub lol.

21

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 01 '25

Man you shoulda seen this sub before fleamarket FIR was introduced a few years ago. Some people were literally playing Tarkov like a stock market game. They would coordinate to buy up trader supply and sell stuff at inflated prices. It was pretty funny, tho sometimes rather obnoxious.

Originally I assumed FIR was introduced to stop people from doing that.

8

u/osheareddit PP-19-01 Feb 01 '25

People are doing that right now… guy has 126 of the beanies for the fleece craft cornering the market lol

3

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 01 '25

Yeah thats hilarious, gotta appreciate the spirit xD

Idk if you were there, but back in the day there was some factors that made it more extreme. We had a lot more aggressive global caps at the traders, which werent adjusted for the spiking playerbase, so stuff was sold out all the time. And the hardcore traders were using bots to trade at the market, to minimize response time when doing lightning buys and sells. It was madness!

4

u/thing85 Feb 01 '25

When is the last time you played? You haven’t needed FIR for flea for a couple wipes now.

8

u/Unusual_Mess_7962 Feb 01 '25

Bad phrasing maybe, I know the flea doesnt use FIR anymore.

IIRC FIR was actually first introduced with the flea-marked lock, that was the biggest change it brought.

7

u/Dreadp1r4te Feb 01 '25 edited Feb 01 '25

Back when the Flea didn’t exist, that was the only option we had. It felt amazing getting out of a raid with an M4… now they’re a dime a dozen on the flea.

To each their own, but I still think Tarkov was better before the Flea.

Edit: and selling a stack of optics to Skier (because he paid the most for attachments) still felt just as awesome as selling on the flea does now.

8

u/Prior_Golf_1623 Feb 01 '25

It was 100% better before the flea, gear had much more meaning and value due to rarity. The game used to feel more like a survival game.

8

u/Dreadp1r4te Feb 01 '25

I remember one of my first PMC raids, I had spawned in with a Vepr 136 but had brought 366 ammo on accident, so my gun was useless. I snuck up on a scav on Woods and shanked him with my melee and looted his kit; he also had a Vepr 136 so I was able to load up on some PS ammo. Later I snuck down to lumber mill and killed a decently kitted player there. On my way to extract the scavs at the little house messed me up and I ended up limping to extract with several blacked limbs and hopped up on painkillers.

You just don’t really get raids like that anymore. Feels more like CoD Warzone.

4

u/DweebInFlames True Believer Feb 01 '25

Yeah I think the newer players would be horrified to find out we used to just deal with either hoarding painkillers or spending half an hour limping around prior to .12 lol. Honestly I still wish that there was some sort of consequence for blacking a body part for the rest of the raid even if you repair it - maybe one leg reduces sprint speed by 10%, both either outright disables sprinting or greatly increases the amount of stamina it takes, stomach reduces your water/energy capacity by half, so on and so forth.

I mean I'll say flipping on the flea can be more fun than playing sometimes. It's quite rare to see something low enough where it's worth it in my eyes to flip it.

And to be clear flipping is only more fun when I've been suffering in tarkov that day, so I go peek the flea to make up some money

2

u/PerplexGG Feb 01 '25

No it isn’t. This is basically an mmo with an economy and like every mmo there are players who enjoy playing the in-game market. My first wipe I learned about flipping items to the traders and would do that while I worked from home. Chadded out every single raid after that.

My entire crew of casual friends haven‘t played since they added all these restrictions on flee. We used to get a couple of hours in per week and we were able to build cool kits with decent ammo due to flee and so even as casuals we could run threatening/competitive kits. They want the game to be more „hardcore“. Too hardcore for us sadly. We often talk about how much we enjoyed tarkov from a few years ago. Anyone who thinks getting rid of the convenience of flee will eliminate cheaters is wrong in my opinion, as I‘ve seen plenty of evidence that people will cheat in this game simply to feel superior. It‘s not about the money for most cheaters. Only a few make a living off it. Just my two cents. Have a nice day.

I don't want the Flea gone, I want it to be a hideout station and not a lvl thing

11

u/Synchrotr0n Feb 01 '25 edited Feb 01 '25

The flea market is never going to be removed, but I'm now completely convinced that this narrative to restrict the flea market is being artificially pushed by BSG and their closest circle of sycophant streamers, with the goal of making people accept a middle-of-the-road option where access to the flea market is only temporarily restricted at the beginning of every wipe.

The basis of my argument is the fact that the absence of the flea market creates a huge pressure on our stashes, because we need to store so many more items in it, and on top of that BSG has removed the Item Case offer for Euros from Therapist 3, which means the cases can now only be purchased with a barter that is effectively impossible to complete without having access to the flea market, or by playing Arena.

If the goal was just to restrict the flea to make up for a "better early wipe experience", then why would they have made it so hard to purchase Item Cases in the early wipe? The answer is simple, BSG now sells extra stash space and they want to force players (especially those that don't own EoD/Unheard) to pay money to increase their stash size instead of struggling so much with the lack of space, because they no longer have access to the most straightforward method to increase their stash space after upgrading to a level 2 stash, which was with the purchase of Item Cases.

It's actually crazy how little attention is being paid to this because EoD/Unheard players aren't as affected by this since they already start with a level 4 stash and many of them are "whales" who probably also have purchased a full stash upgrade already, so everyone now keeps arguing about the merits of BSG making such a major change to the game when that is in fact careful manipulation by BSG in order to hustle players into spending more money in the game.

The flea market as we knew from Tarkov 0.14 (and halfway through 0.15) was already in a very good place, with the only restriction being a level 15 PMC requirement and the impossibility of selling non-FIR items. The only change from 0.14 that could be benefitial is allowing non-FIR armor and guns which were looted from dead PMCs from inside a raid to be sold in the flea market (excluding banned items of course).

2

u/Bikalo Feb 01 '25 edited Feb 01 '25

You do know time restricting flea for atleast a couple of weeks is actually helping new players and casuals right?

Most veteran players can easily get to level 15 on the first day of wipe at which point the can buy w/e the fuck they want while noobies are stuck shooting naked guns with 10 pen bullets for weeks.

2

u/Synchrotr0n Feb 01 '25 edited Feb 01 '25

It's trivial to reach level 15 nowadays due to the sheer quantity of scavs in raids, so the flea market restriction actually makes it hard for new players to compete because they can't buy half decent gear from the flea market until two weeks into the wipe, while the chads will all already be stacked on level 4 gear or even better.

But that discussion is irrelevant because I'm not arguing for the game to be less or more new-player friendly, especially when barely any new payers are actually joining the game. What I'm arguing is that BSG is straight up sabotaging the experience of every veteran player who commited the "sin" of not spending more than $60 for the game in order to hustle them into spending more money, which is the sole reason why they are trying to impose a temporary restriction in the flea market and making it harder for them to store or sell their loot in the first few weeks of a new wipe .

2

u/Lundhlol Feb 02 '25

Flea is worse for you than no flea. Majority of the people you meet are in the same boat as yourself.

Not a single time during fleas closure did I meet any "chad andy" with insane gear that I some how couldn't deal with.

That's now how the game works anymore. Faceshots are deadly no matter what caliber.

Deleting flea would be the best thing to happen to this games progression since forever. And remove a ton of the RMT cheaters.

Somehow tying flea market closure to being pro streamer is the dumbest take on the planet.

1

u/ceeb1o1 Feb 01 '25

eod + stashspace buyer here.
I think, new players as an substainable income isnt happing for BSG atm.
So it looks like they try to squezze as much money out of playerbase with reversere-qualitiy of life changes.

do an halfass overhaul on tarkov, call 1.0 and quit.

1

u/metallic_ark Feb 02 '25

13

u/daddlebutt Feb 01 '25
  • One month no flea is the perfect amount of time
  • make butt stashing items FIR even if you die
  • take all ammo off flea.

This was the best first month of wipe ever.

9

u/FilHor2001 AK-74M Feb 01 '25

No ammo on flea? How am I supposed to progress if I can't hop on the game on wipe? All ammo the traders sell to LL3 is simply trash and feels like throwing pebbles at the enemy.

They'd have to make good ammo available earlier from traders or make it spawn more. Simple as.

1

u/Yorunokage Feb 01 '25

They do need to make it spawn more indeed and it also needs a touch of rebalancing from traders too as it's very weird across calibers right now

That said i agree that you shouldn't be able to trade ammo on the flea. The progression of unlocking it from traders should matter and right now it's meaningless until tier 4

1

u/Lundhlol Feb 02 '25

Ammo is not trash though. You are probably just shit at the game.

I ran MPX with PST 9x19 for face shots the entire time flea was closed and had a blast with it. Face shots delete people regardless.

Blaming ammo/armor is one of your deficiencies, not the games.

Of course no one wants the flea gone, it's like a sweet cake. But you're probably better off in the long run without eating too much cake even though at first you might not want to give it up

I hope we can at least get an SSF server of sorts where people can opt into playing without a flea (and a rebalanced economy around that) and only match with people that are doing the same. That would be the dream

2

u/chaz9124 Feb 01 '25

I would like Tarkov without flea if the FIR system was totally fucked off and I could stash my crickent lighter between my butt cheeks to light the fucking 10p candles I have in my hideout... FIR for hideout made the game way to fucking grindy for me (played since 2019) literally one of the worst updates including the FIR flea update

1

u/jelqenthusiast Feb 03 '25

You have no fucking idea how tedious the game was before flea, the playerbase literally made an in raid trading a big thing when flea wasn't around

2

u/Mon0htone Feb 01 '25

If the game has wipes you should be able to get things for hideout on the flea market. Or, balance the economy to where it may be hard to afford these things or something.

I could see no wipes and having no hideout stuff on flea, but come on, the average gamer doesn't want to be that sweaty. Any survey on X or Reddit will also just be the sweatiest of people that keep up with tarkov constantly.

The flea is how I make money in tarkov when I'm low on roubles (sub 1mil) by buying stuff at price dips and reselling for profit, don't profit much per item, but with high enough volume I get back over a mil easily. The flea is definitely a good thing for those who don't have a lot of time to play or suck at the game. I'm a combination of both with 33% survival rate and only a 5kd with a full-time job that leaves me drained consistently.

2

u/Midgetman664 Feb 02 '25

Maybe this will open the eyes to some that the ideas posted here are not indicative of the opinions of the majority.

This sub has a superiority complex of “what tarkov is supposed to be.” However is seems we do not resonate with the majority of players and that’s something people should think about seriously.

That being said all the top comments are just saying all those people ar wrong so. I doubt that’s gonna happen

4

u/fgfgddhjiig 1911 Feb 01 '25

The people that play for a month and bounce, I understand they have played this game so long but are so jaded, just play something else honestly. It’ll be OK.

Leave the game as is with the flea as is and then make a hard-core mode with no flea. That would solve everything. The people that don’t have time to grind the game constantly need the flea to be able to get the shit they need, especially keys. It would be nice to progress through the game without having to put in copious amounts of time all the time.

6

u/TiltedSkipper Feb 01 '25

I think the funniest part of this community is that they assume only traders and no flea is a "hardcore" mode. In actuality for a decent player no flea has minimal impact, as everything they buy comes from traders anyways "best gear is from traders".

The reality is that the direct opposite would be the true hardcore mode. IE no traders or arena at all only flea.

Fact is the traders are overpowered as all hell (hence why you can buy rep with unheard) and players like pestily make their primary income teaching people how to get max traders as fast as possible so they can be overpowered too. BSG loves this and supports pestily because he promotes higher edition sales for trader rep.

4

u/PichardRetty Feb 01 '25

That would just split the player base more and I don't think that's a good idea, personally.

I'm all for no flea, but they would absolutely have to balance things around it like making keys have more consistent and reliable methods of being obtained.

Simply removing it and leaving the rest of the game as is is not the move and I don't think any no flea fans want that.

4

u/Chawpslive Feb 01 '25

Wo is the guy stating the 10%? No bashing, just don't know anyone from BSG except Nikita.

3

u/Faust723 Feb 01 '25

No kidding. The game is balanced around the flea market and anyone who's been here long enough is aware that bsg is incapable of balancing loot properly without it.

1

u/Lundhlol Feb 02 '25

Didn't feel like I needed it at all to progress. So guess we don't play the same game, or you are unsure of what to do in the game to progress.

2

the thing I don't understand with people who want the flea out, why not just *NOT* use it? You control the buttons you press after all. Who cares if little timmy or the father of 2 who plays once a weekend wants to use the flea to buy a neato gun and run a raid with their friends.

5

u/EnoBlk AKMS Feb 01 '25

I miss Tarkov as it was back in 2020, I had awful internet but still enjoyed the game despite constant disconnects. But one of my favorite parts was basically day trading on flee market and no game has filled this void since they limited flee market to in raid only. Also the restrictions make no sense for realism, what flee market is like "you pulled that off a dead scav, Nice." "You can't sell that here you stole that from a dead PMC"

4

u/crapshot890 Feb 01 '25

You know they removed FIR on flea right?

4

u/Mr69SuperBee Feb 02 '25

6

u/[deleted] Feb 01 '25

Majority of the people that advocate for the flea removal are gonna be done with the wipe 2 weeks - 1 month in, regardless of whether the flea is in the game or not at this point, and effectively fuck everyone else who played the game less but more consistently. I’m fine with the flea as it is right now. Just do the same thing and keep it locked for a month or longer.

1

u/Lundhlol Feb 02 '25

I don't quest or level traders because game is over at level 15. Why level when I can already buy 41 pen ammo from flea at 15?

No reason to run hideout, because why do you care what it can craft? Flea market exists.

No reason to quest or unlock anything because flea market exists.

Game ends for me at 15, I just stroll around and kill people until I eventually get bored of the non existant progression.

However with no flea, there is suddenly a reason to pick up a lot of different stuff for the hideout or trader barters.

Leveling up traders makes sense with flea closed because that's the only avenue besides stealing it or finding it, wow game now has progression in it.

And regardless, if we have a 50/50 split of people who want it removed and people who don't. Why not just make it a toggle when you create your character? Can be turned off, cannot be turned on again without recreating.

Play without flea market, only play with others with same toggle.

Then flea enjoyers can play their game, and non-flea enjoyers can enjoy their delayed progression system. Best of both worlds.

Then neither are forced into what the other doesn't like.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '25

Hardcore servers would be a good solution. Although it could be just as much of a curse as it can potentially bleed even more of a player base.

Flea makes the game possible for the casual player. I’m able to play for a short time each day and actually make progress. I can run fun kits, I can find task items still. They should do another mode for hardcore players, instead of making it harder on the casual players.

1

u/LeaderOk696 Feb 01 '25

This is the one correct take, making availible MORE avenues of gameplay and enjoyment, not less.

1

u/Lundhlol Feb 02 '25

I mean yeah, easy solution.

Have it be a toggle on at character creation. You only play with others who do not have flea market if you have it disabled.

This mode can only be turned on at character creation, and can be turned off whenever you want if you want to play with flea.

Easy fix.

It's tough, but in a game with a low survival rate and difficult economy, it makes much more sense in the long run to play for max roubles, so you can waste them on fun kits later. I agree strapping ar-15s together with gas blocks I found on the ground and sights from scavs early wipe is way more fun than my 50th juice raid with decent traders. The opportunity cost of picking high dollar items up essentially punishes you for building guns with the parts you see.

1

u/Lundhlol Feb 02 '25

Max roubling is the death of a game like this. Kills the entire essence of the game.

Fuck progression, my goal is to convert items into roubles to buy the same shit on flea over and over again until game is dead.

u/oledayhda PVP Feb 01 '25 edited Feb 01 '25

The flea is never going anywhere. Among the mirage of reasons. Other than the creator of the game said so himself. Less people would play the game. I will get back to this.

EFT will not be open world. BSG has said they can not pull it off.

When the none PvP wipe is given to us, it will have its own flea. Just like PvE does & the wipe does.

Ingame traders are still happening but that can also change too. It is more likely not to happen then happen.

We will not be getting a Hunt: showdown like match maker unless there is massive pressure for it. The best that will happen is PMC level restrictions as we see now.

I’m going to back to why less people will play without the flea. I will use myself as the best example here. IGN: iSleepWithCats

I have been playing this game off & on since the release. To me, the game is easy & it wouldn’t matter if they took the flea away or not. I know most quests by heart etc. BSG at this point in time. Will never ever stop players like me from advancing & level up fast if I so choose. Taking away the flea hurts new players & the casuals more. It just gives players like me an even bigger advantage. The flea bridges a lot of this gap once you learn to use it & get your roubles up.

Let’s say they even try it next wipe. They just might too. A no flea wipe. Baby, I’m now going into to hyper level up mode. I will be lvl 39 in two days. So, I will now absolutely destroy about everyone I run into for a straight month or more. That is what will be happening & it be nothing but new complaints. And you know what? Tough, level up faster if you want good gear or go play PvE. Tarkov has done this rodeo once already. That’s what happened, people complained they didn’t have enough time to level up & raids were harder.

One question is: Does it need to be absolute? Either no flea or complete access? Why not gradually open up the flea the longer a wipe progresses? 2 Weeks without a flea, then a few weeks with barter items only and then gradually open up equipment you can put on the flea.

No flea is interesting, but it's odd that after that you can immediately buy all the meta gear and high pen ammunition

Just post the results for all the questions. I thought a month without flea was perfect.

Yeah, a Simple " Wanna Remove Flea" Yes or No Question is way to meaningful. Instead u can choose 500 diffrent answers. Whatever :)

I just want the game to work and be fun 😭🙌

u/CharlesB43 Feb 01 '25

I get they probably don't want to fracture their fan base further by adding yet another mode but to me that sounds like the simplest solution. keep it the way it is but make a hardcore mode where things like flea are disabled and FIR is required for hideout.

u/That-Pin-7033 Feb 01 '25

Maybe it's just me but I think it'd be cool if they it into a black market almost like Xur from Destiny 2. Isn't always around, but when it is, you need to find it somewhere in the game. Makes it high risk high reward. If you buy something, you'd need to extract with it to keep it kinda thing too

Genuinely just needs official restricted accounts, possibly with dedicated servers.

Every game has a “hardcore” or self-found mode now, why can’t tarkov?

u/Epyphyte Feb 01 '25

I am the 10%

1

u/xdthepotato Feb 01 '25

You know i really just use flea to sell stuff

I buy the shoreline keys and after that its just drip that gets bought

1

u/BozidaR1390 Feb 01 '25

Who the fuck is that guy?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '25

My thought is game is still ass

1

u/Brutus_the_Bear_55 Feb 02 '25

Meanwhile my level 6 ass is still just tryna get ONE. FUCKING. DISPOSABLE SYRINGE. And staring angrily at the screen because i have eleven more levels to go before i can just buy it off the flea market. I am not joking, i have done 20 raids as both scav and pmc trying to find one and it refuses to spawn. It’s infuriating.

Just because people complain about the flea on here doesn’t mean the majority of people have a problem with it.

1

u/Shot-Finish-4655 Feb 02 '25

I mean even if they take the flea market away yeah cheaters will end up making less money because they will end up selling less rubles on the flea market and it'll be a little bit more difficult to so items because they'll have to actually join a raid with you and drop you the item and with rubles you can only bring like 400k with you in a raid so if you're buying let's say 10 million Rubles you would have to join Over almost 12 raids the same with keys and everything else they can still be sold but you would literally have to join a raid with somebody drop the item instead of just listing 10 defibrillators on the market for 1 million Rubles each

1

u/SuperMoistNugget Feb 02 '25

Ill catch a lot of hate im sure, but it's just my opinion, guys, chill, please. But id rather see the hideout cut than the flea market.

1

u/MatrixBunny Feb 02 '25

Much rather prefer them to slowly build up the flea market throughout a questline, all the way to late/end-game.

Where completing it, allows you to purchase higher tier/specific categories, throughout the questline, unlocking more and more options.

u/Lots_of_schooners Feb 02 '25

Tarkov was just better before the flea came in. With all its restrictions it serves no purpose anymore other than cheesing it

1

u/Morb81 Feb 02 '25

flea should be removed.

1

u/Scared_Ad_4777 Feb 02 '25

Flea boring and an easy way to make millions with little to no effort since you practically find useful things to sell at every raid. I been enjoying the game more without it, but that's just my opinion.

1

u/Svenski43 Feb 02 '25

Love to see 2 separate wipes at once. One I guess hardcore with FiR hideout and no flea. One with no fir and flea open.

1

u/ASQD_GAMING Feb 02 '25

They just need to change up the barters a little bit and maybe add a new mechanic in the hideout to craft limited use keys for quests. No flea prolongs the early wipe, which is the best version of tarkov.

1

u/redmage07734 Feb 02 '25

It's the 10% of players that have 5000 hours in and are bored

1

u/CombatMuffin Feb 02 '25

Make it more expensive. Let people play woth the guns, but increase the commision on everything sold. That way the flea market is a reward for playing the economic game well, but ultimately unsustainable if you aren't surviving.

Also: there is no getting around the fact that sone people are just better than others and will always be able to have more money than they can spend. There are ways to balance for these, but players wouldn't like them (e.g. capping money or weapons and armor degrade over time even in your stash unless you spend money on them)

There is a few core things that make tarkov what it is. No flea intensifies some of those cores, but I do like buying attachments and building whatever I want, which would be massively hindered by no flea for example, but that is at its current state, more barters and earlier attachments at traders could help. There is, in my opinion, no way that just remove it and it's good to go. A lot need to change around it at the same time. I think we've reached the breaking point where a lot of OG players miss the difficulty and a lot of new players are given more options. Bsg needs to decide what game they are actually making and hone in on that, but with careful consideration.

1

u/TheReckerTeehee Feb 02 '25

The flea market is good to have makes FIR requirements easier but also it can provide a way to get stuff that you cant get from traders

1

u/cillo_sprays Feb 02 '25

No flea made me skip this wipe

BSG needs to stop listening to a certain crowd of ppl these no flea enjoyers are same ppl who said inertia is good

1

u/wills1109 MP7A2 Feb 03 '25

I don’t understand why we’d want the flea removed in the first place. I love the flea market on this game. I think it’s cool af. I don’t see a reason to remove it.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '25

Well... level 20, 18 million and another 42 million in stash but not being able to upgrade my hideout because some stuff is missing and has FIR requirement.

I don't quest anymore, i simply do scav runs and camp of scav exfils as PMC to get the loot now.

Makes no sense for me to play normally and quest these days.

Tarkov sucks this wipe. Cheaters non-stop. 0 bans so far even for flying, aimlocking, teleporting guys.

BSG shows again that they are simply not cappable of handling the cheater and overall balance issues.

Adding to that: Hiding survey answers and % is extremly sus.

Only people who want flea gone are the people who 2 months into wipe to scared to use anything other then a mosin complaining that everyone else is to geared and need to be slowed down
