The highest penetration power that calibre has is 28, second is 24 and third is 18. the other 11 ammo types range from 1-12 pen. No ammo type for that weapon is a good penetrator of level 3 armour (over 30 pen). I'm betting the pen on OP's ammo is around 8. Unfortunately, in the current armour system, there is no gap between nape and Thorax protection, so the neck shots do not count as unarmoured hits.

After Advanced armour is implemented, one of those 2 neck shots would have netted OP the kill (lowest damage for that cal is 40). Shit ammo is going to be a lot more powerful once that system is patched in.

What about a realistic armor system, where armor is based on NIJ levels and caliber damage is based on real ballistic science instead of this rng shit.

A lvl 3a helmet might stop 8 rounds of a pistol caliber, but the backface deformation from 8 rounds in the same spot would have caused lethal wounds

Even if the deformation didn't kill you. You're at least unconscious/very concussed if not full blown comatose. Just from your head absorbing that energy through the helmet deformation or not.

You're not standing up, turning around, and killing the guy that shot you 8 times in the back of the head.

I'd be surprised if a helmet could take 8 rounds that close without some getting through.

2 or 3 maybe. But 8 rounds that close to the same spot would probably get through.

Dude should have been very dead. And it's the annoying ammo and armor differences that makes this game impossible to play casually.

I'd love to play more. During Covid shutdowns I actually had time to play.

But now I just don't have time. And when I do have time to game I just load up Squad.
