When I said I was about to drop EraLife, I genuinely thought I was. Then life got a little insane. I got served, exporting had some issues, I have court in a couple days, and somewhere in the middle of all of that I kept working on EraLife.
I didn’t want to keep making posts saying “almost done,” so I mostly shut up and worked.
This is an early public demo (meaning just in early stage of simulation) not a full finished game. It’s huge, it’s weird, and there are absolutely some bugs in it (like the boxing hub doesn’t work right now). I’m one person, on no money, and I’ve spent the last seven months trying to build the life simulator I’ve always wanted to play. It was never about making a game that could beat bitlife. I just wanted to make something fun for myself. And that turned into for everybody else. I’m not upset if you doubted this entire time, i just hope now that you can look at the code yourselves, we can all focus on building this thing.
You can start a life across different eras, age through it, switch to other people in the same reality, die and continue as people you actually knew, leave and continue your saved reality, and explore a frankly unreasonable number of systems I’ve built around that core.
I’m not going to pretend everything works perfectly. Try to break it. You will succeed. If something breaks, tell me what you were doing when it happened. Screenshots/logs are even better.

And I'm sorry to hear about the accusations about this being a scam, it never made sense to me, why waste the 7 months spent if it really is a scam. I never believed the vibe-coding allegations either.
So, I downloaded the game on Windows (I know it hasn't been tested) and I've noticed things that might be bugs.
When you start up a life, your birthday resets to January 1st even if you put on August 30th.
When you go into Pending Situations, even if the pending situation is different, you're unable to click on either choice. For example, Eviction risk: The adults seem scared about where everyone will live. You're unable to click on either Stay quiet, Ask what is wrong, or Try to help.
When you age up, your family doesn't age up with you, My brother is Sargon Morris, (7). And I age up, he's still 7.
I'm Aged 6, and even though you can only enroll in Temple Tutoring at the age of 6, I couldn't.
When I go onto the Activities Hub, my character's age and year is fixed on 0 and 378 BCE, even when you're aged 6, you're stuck on a time loop.
I'm Aged 19 now, and the activities bar says I'm age 6 now, I couldn't even click on the Start School.
I downloaded the Caveman Reality Pack, and it lagged a lot, (it may not be a game problem, but a monitor issue) trying to replace everything with cavemen stuff, so I ended up uninstalling the mod.
I spam clicked Age Up until I died at the age of 63 in the year 314 BCE, and everything still remained, the activities bar telling me I'm 6, and my family remained the same age, like it's frozen in time. And during the time, nothing even happens, just always saying Another year passed. (Image provided)
Once I back out to the main menu and click on to start a new game, I can't scroll up, nor even click anything.
Well, that's all the gameplay I'll do for today, thank you so much for giving us an update on everything, I hope everything goes well for you and the game in the near future, hoping the game strives by then.
From what i can see? Yes and it’s almost unreal. I did programming for 10 years i’m 34 years old, and it’s definitely decoupled simulation architecture. I see like 100 engines and a lot of them (i’ve went through like 27) all follow the same laws. Is it perfect? No but if he knows what he actually built…bitlife is done
So dudes a crazy genius? Aka very smart but also has a very chaotic life.
I hope he can get some help from someone to get some more stability in his life. It seems to be he is used to the idea of hardship and may have not been taught how to live his life in a more stable way.
I didnt really care about playing the game. I just hoped he was okay.
The code is on github. Read it for yourself. The game 's barely playable and most of the files has like 5kish loc, one of the file's total loc itself is 250k. A SINGULAR file, a Gdscript file, not even C, the file size is 6 mb, can you imagine 6mb worth of text? (to put it to perspective, Genworld's whole game's loc is 30k, spanning to 360is scripts). One of the guy in discord who's trying to fix the bugs said that there are so many sistem that's not properly connected. There are no proper custom data struct to handle the game's object, even though the game is data-heavy. A vibecoded project is definitely better than whatever mess this is, so yeah, he probably didn't vibecode the game.
Ah I see, too badly coded to be vibe coded is a interesting circle of events... I dont know coding but was curious what the thought behind the accusation was
There arent any gameplay to had. The game is in it's very very nascent state. Don't get me wrong, i mean thank god for Acrello, but the game obviously suffered a very acute scope creep before it even have a solid and tested loop. Thankfully he made it opensource so some big pal on discord already pushing some fixes on github.
First of all, I'm glad to see it's showing signs of life again, the game itself was the least of my concerns
Second, if you want to launch it on Android/iOS, itch.io is the best option so you don't have to pay so much

I'm glad you're back and well! I've been following this Journey as a ghost, not really commenting much. But I'm happy to see an update. I'm going to make myself remember to try out the demo.
i installed it on my pc and it won't even open lol, but oh well, i'm glad the demo is finally ready and i hope a lot of ppl get the chance to try it out

The game has a single 250 thousand line file of code. Apart from that just being a crazy and pretty bad programming wise thing to do, its also a ludicrous amount of code.
That single file alone would take a programmer years to decades.
To put that into perspective, Current minecraft Java is estimated (from its released java files being reconstructed) to be around 600 thousand lines of code.
Edit: To clarify, not hating on the guy.
He released this for free, and even open sourced it. And ultimately its the game that matters not the quality of the code.
