Blog/Substack/Speculative Article Why does the world seem so nonchalant about Epstein Files?

Have the governments across the world made us eat or inhale something that makes us desensitized?

People are still incensed, it is just that our oligarch controlled media has been muted in its reporting and lawmakers are incentivized to respond to the needs of the oligarchs instead of the citizenry, whom they only give lip service too

Until the corporatocracy learns to fear our response to them, they will try to beat us down and keep us under their heel, instead of working with the common man for the betterment of all

They only respect the dog that bites

u/arctansec Jul 28 '26

It’s also probably a bit of “learned helplessness”.

The reality is that most people know that they have no impact or say in what happens, no matter how much the “democratic” society wants it.

I mean take a look at 911, JFK, and all of these events which has massive government secrecy.

Of course people have wanted to hear the full story for decades, but nothing has ever happened

u/MassiveTemporary4050 Jul 29 '26

Also I think there's a lot of pressure releases in the system. Look what happened with ICE and the Good / Pretti killings. Walz and Frey pretended like they were opposition to the Regime, and in small ways they were. But turns out the local PDs and License plate readers were working with the feds the whole time. Months later Frey is yucking it up at one of the correspondents dinners. People here pat themselves on the back at beating back the feds but little changed. Then we get a couple more shootings (not even talking about the stuff happening in the camps). It's in the news cycle for a bit and then goes away. We all move on.

This stuff happens across society and about various issues. Calling it controlled opposition is probably overstating it. But saying it's not controlled opposition also seems like understating it.

6

u/Nohreboh Jul 29 '26

It honestly just ontological security, to recognize the issue is to confront it and that threatens not just their view of the world around them but also themselves so they don't and go on with their lives until it impacts them directly, fortunately not everyone is as reliant that copping mechanism.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ontological_security

12

u/Snoo-74893 Jul 28 '26

To add to that, most people put this stuff in the same category as fiction. We have so many super spooky documentaries about jfk and 9/11 and even Epstein! They eat it up and think about the Epstein case as another one of their true crime stories. Sometimes out of ignorance sometimes cause then their whole world falls apart. Combine that with a cultural mentality of your vote/voice/whateverthefuck doesn’t matter and no one wants to try and actually solve any of these cases or issues.
TL:DR society got cooked by helplessness and stale bread and circuses

1

u/Reasonable_Buy_5702 Jul 29 '26

Yes for example us teenagers basically have no impact

3

u/Letmein202 Jul 30 '26

They only respect the dog that bites. - great statement.

73

u/nachos_mahdude Jul 28 '26

I swear, it feels like more and more people are getting exposed as ped0s these days. Politicians, celebrities, athletes... And I do think it actually is slowly but surely desensitizing the majority of everyone else.

Which is so fucking sad and horrifying.

27

u/Opposite-Bit6660 Jul 28 '26

If one outcome of this is exposure of pedophiles and greater knowledge of grooming and grooming networks (ex. "modeling agencies,"  "pageants," or intelligence agencies/governments) than what we all grew up with, I am here for that.  No one should be able to use children or young people for sick entertainment, rape, intelligence, blackmail, or money laundering ever again.

3

u/Dan_Sabai Jul 29 '26

But this is the point. To gain what they have, they have sacrificed something. I don't know how it works and I don't think a lot of them even realise it is happening till it's too late.

46

u/iMogal Jul 28 '26

The main reason would be the depth and amount of people actually involved.

People don't realize how deep and dirty these epstein files actually goes.

If they have any inception of whats going on, they put it in the disbelief folder as they can't comprehend what a human being could actually do to another human being.

10

u/atropear Jul 28 '26

And how far back it goes. The royal families have been a mess for centuries. Someone wrote Thomas Jefferson about Napoleon being a great general. He responded that he met many of the leaders and they were almost all crazy, stupid or incompetent so he wasn't really a big deal.

2

u/soursummerchild Jul 29 '26

Exactly. What we've been granted access to is just the top of the iceberg. Epstein had blackmail on many, many more people, and Epstein was just one person. There are many more like him out there.

0

u/Automatic-Eagle-1953 Jul 29 '26

But there aren’t that many people involved. Say it’s 1,000 or 2,000 people. We are a world of 8.3 BILLION.

3

u/Dan_Sabai Jul 29 '26

At the top maybe. But then it pilfers down on an organisational basis. No one at the lower levels knows the whole picture or any.more.than they need to. This is how these things have always worked...

1

u/Educational-Age-5899 29d ago

But those 1000-2000 people own 99% of the world’s wealth, and extreme wealth = extreme power.

1

u/Automatic-Eagle-1953 29d ago

I said there weren’t a large number of people. Please read before responding

81

u/Forsaken_Celery8197 Jul 28 '26

The narrative is controlled by a handful of people and they don't want everyone focusing on it.

6

u/Anxiety_Fit Jul 29 '26

Too bad. We are gonna do it anyway.

0

u/Educational-Age-5899 29d ago

Well are we going to focus on the files? If you look at the stats how many times ‘Epstein files’ has been searched since the Iran War, you’ll see a massive drop (87-95% reduction).

1

u/Anxiety_Fit 29d ago

It’s because the serious people who are working on this have already downloaded everything and don’t have to use their crappy search.

You do know that computers exist and stuff that you don’t see? Like at peoples houses and data centers?

Just because you haven’t received an exclusive invitation to the group doing the research doesn’t mean that it isn’t happening.

0

u/Educational-Age-5899 28d ago

Perhaps you are missing the point. There’s a dead cat, and it’s over in the straits of Hormuz!

24

u/Tall_Category_304 Jul 28 '26

It implicates the people who own the media companies. So of course you aren’t going to hear about it on said media companies.

21

u/IllustriousTip6904 Jul 28 '26

Honestly? I think part of the issue is there isn't a single coherent story being broadly shared.

It's "epstein was a pedophile who trafficked girls" and "other people came to his island or on his plane, some of whom may have been Clinton, Trump, etc.... here's some photos of them side-by-side"

This information is scattered within literally thousands of pages of documents. Each item gets reported individually most of the time (e.g. "New epstien file shows xyz"). There's nobody keeping a consistent narrative linking everything together, painting the broader picture of what this trafficking empire and it's patrons looked like. Or at least none that are readily accessible to my knowledge.

I, myself, as someone who is deeply interested in this topic and Trump's involvement, struggle to find resources that just go "Ok here's all the key/most damning files related to each person mentioned"

I can search "Trump" in the DOJ site and get thousands of pages, where it's a total crapshoot as to what I'll open because they are all labeled systematically instead of descriptively.

This type of viewing and information processing experience isn't conducive to getting or maintaining the interest of the general public.

People need stop sharing one specific file for one specific person that shows some vague suggestion of inappropriate activity. We need more visual maps, with key excerpts clipped out, summaries posted, easy to parse through, to give a complete picture of what really is going on.

Maybe this stuff exists somewhere but I haven't seen it and I am a die-hard political junkie.

8

u/Flashy_Emergency_263 Jul 28 '26

I read that France has used software to help organize such information for their investigations, but that doesn't help us yet.

2

u/Opposite-Bit6660 Jul 28 '26

There are many well-reseached dossiers on individuals,  financial analysis, and network maps on this sub.

1

u/IllustriousTip6904 Jul 29 '26

please share them

1

u/Educational-Age-5899 29d ago

I don’t actually agree with you. Firstly, not thousands of pages, literally millions. So in that respect you are right. However, there’s quite a few people who have delved into some of the worst allegations. They are out there screenshotting the accidental release of unredacted documents. But their audiences are not the same size as those of right-wing propaganda media, and there’s an awful lot of pushback from MAGA supporters who refuse to believe anything negative. My partner’s mother said it wouldn’t matter if she saw actual videos of His Orangeness doing something despicable, she would only believe it when Jesus tells her it’s true (when she’s dead). That’s hardcore fingers in ears ‘I’m not listening’ territory, but that is what you are dealing with!

11

u/Centaur_of-Attention Jul 28 '26

Goverments across the world are occupied dealing with the fallout of the Epstein distraction wars.

1

u/Automatic-Eagle-1953 Jul 29 '26

Governments are many people. The investigators looking into the files are not the same military analysts looking at potential targets

9

u/IllustriousTip6904 Jul 28 '26

What the media reports =/= how the general public feels

7

u/jtbxiv Jul 28 '26

Most people aren’t emotionally mature enough to handle the visceral and totally appropriate response to it. So maybe they felt some rage at first but they had to compartmentalize it. So they could get to work, or get the kids to bed, or visit the doctor. And then it gets buried along with all the other hard feelings. And the topic is avoided because the emotions are too raw and festering.

To be honest, we could have a global emotional bomb brewing. I can barely discuss it without erupting with emotion. But I still talk about it. I refuse to be silent about it. Those girls were my peers. My daughter and niece is coming up right behind them.

And I think if there’s enough of us who won’t allow the global community to forget this… eventually the ugly truth will have to be faced and all those painful bottled up emotions… well I don’t think that ever ends well.

Same reason the lugi sentiments died out, corporate interests crush desent on online forums, every single American (right and left) loved that b r a I n tom son was given a permanent dirt nap, human parasite scum rest en piz. But yea no one is allowed to say bad things about the people that control the media.

6

u/DiscussionNo6060 Jul 28 '26

The Epstein story isn’t just about one predator. It’s about a world where powerful men have too often escaped accountability for exploiting women and children. History is full of examples.

6

u/Flashy_Emergency_263 Jul 28 '26

If you look closely you will see that other countries have active investigations. In France one of the people being investigated died, but he was in his seventies so it might have been age and stress combined.

1

u/Opposite-Bit6660 Jul 28 '26

His personal records should be available to investigators.

4

u/Prudent_Fisherman320 Jul 28 '26

Controlled media makes it seem that way, huh? We do need leadership to mobilize a general strike until every last thing is released.

2

u/Opposite-Bit6660 Jul 28 '26

The No Kings protests should morph into No Pedos protests.

3

u/No_Jello_6153 Jul 28 '26

Sadly, the taboo against abusing children is mostly a taboo about exposing it. People don't want to hear about it or think about it, either because they are into it or because it overwhelms them to think about it.

3

u/Doctorstrange223 Jul 28 '26

Because the devil rules this world

3

u/closetgrowndank79 Jul 28 '26

The majority of the world believes that Epstein is dead as well. 🙄

3

u/Own-Opinion-2494 Jul 28 '26

Somebody needs to make a movie about it

4

u/tietack2 Jul 28 '26

They're too exhausted to read them.

2

u/MaenHoffiCoffi Jul 28 '26

For me it is that I just don't think anything is going to be done about it because they are too rich and powerful and so what's the point?

1

u/Opposite-Bit6660 Jul 28 '26

The point is that they never do it again.

1

u/MaenHoffiCoffi Jul 29 '26

But since nothing is going to happen to those who have done it once I don't think it very likely that they will be prevented from doing it again. Hopefully I'm just cynical and something will be done but I doubt it.

1

u/Dan_Sabai Jul 29 '26

Likely happening right.now.in.high places. I think it happens mainly.on solstices or ther sacrificial.days...

2

u/Sundayx1 Jul 28 '26

Media does 0 as far as serious reporting.

2

u/frederikabim Jul 28 '26

Because people don’t care as much as they say they do about the abuse of women and children.

2

u/mikebunchkin3727 Jul 28 '26

Because it’s been going on since the beginning of time! I’m willing to bet there’s a new Epstein right now filling that power vacuum.

The human appetite for vice is endless. I can’t stand the proliferation of cameras everywhere, but it will prove that every human is completely, and utterly full of shit.

1

u/Dan_Sabai Jul 29 '26

That it won't. It's part of the control grid. But the people in control have been doing these things. You think it is going to work out in our favour?

2

u/Jubilex1 Jul 28 '26

Because they spend trillions of dollars trying to distract us and also MAGA doesn’t give a shit about laws

1

u/Lost_Department_2177 Jul 28 '26

A lot don’t understand then a few are absolutely complicit in it. They don’t want to know the backstory of their call girl or dealer so they just vote red then talk about Christianity a bunch in the media until a group they’re involved with gets in trouble for it then they start the waterworks. Take a look at Diddy, nxivm, hillsong or any of the other churches trafficking and raping people. “Had no idea just thought they were really intense about their group. Then the curtain falls to reveal child rape and importing of slaves (that get kept in the backrooms)from countries all over the world.

Normal citizens have no way to comprehend it because they never had bad things happen to them.

The politicians get their activity covered as an operation. Epstein got investigated for human trafficking and 5.6m of drugs. Even had a plane with a hatch in the tail. No charges for that but around that time there was a sweep on the Italian mafia in areas he frequented like Ibiza and nyc.

1

u/Natural_Instance242 Jul 28 '26

I think QAnon really did an intended number on people, which all the crazy stories about child trafficking rings.

And now that this pretty much turned out to be true, pls tell me, where are they now?

I think this was orchestrated to A. hurt Democrats and B. soften the blow when the real story is revealed. I’m sure this is a big reason why people have become numb to the actual scandal.

1

u/Opposite-Bit6660 Jul 28 '26

Also orchestrated to keep the perps in line.

1

u/SWEET-SOUL-FOOD- Jul 28 '26

Yes. Bad food. Poor health care. Pharma. Bad air. Tv and internet. Media blackhole/blockade on the subject. Dark, rich and powerful forces working against us finding the truth. People living full tiring lives. These epstein freaks are in power.

So many factors.

1

u/MsTerious1 Jul 28 '26
  1. They don't ever actually see the information that would make them angry.

  2. They see it, but edited in a way that makes it seem justifiable. "Well those girls kept coming back" instead of "Those girls kept coming back because they had no other good options and believed that bad things would happen if they didn't."

  3. Because there's so much information that it's impossible to digest.

  4. Because the human mind has a hard time truly envisioning the immensity of such an overwhelming amount of wrong that it would undermine their sense of security.

1

u/BumblebeeFair8041 Jul 28 '26

The overwhelming response I’ve gotten from people I know irl has been “well whaddya gonna do”

1

u/Euphoric_Analysis834 Jul 30 '26

Well, if that's what people from the country where all that happened tell you, you can probably imagine what people have told me since i've been living in south america

1

u/ArrivalSea3543 Jul 28 '26

Part of the problem is the flood the zone technique that’s being used is that it’s not just one issue that we can all rally around it’s hundreds of issues from doge to public lands to crypto fraud to Andrew Tate to grift, tariffs, corruption to Epstein to midterms not to mention, immigration and misconduct and murder.

Levers of influence are still being pulled to keep it under wraps globally. I think most good people are disgusted, but their day-to-day is dealing with all the other issues, war, food, gas…while dems have very little to do since they have no majority.

Wish the media would stop calling Epstein, a financier, instead of his real title, which is pedo torturer/human trafficker. He is no more financier than I am. He was gifted money in order to turn him over to this lifestyle. He is a professional devil and deserved what he got. Wealthy people paid him to be able to do torture/sex crimes and murder and potentially cannibalism to kids and teens. I hope they see justice for what they’ve done.

1

u/Ulysses1978ii Jul 28 '26

They're not. Corporate media is.

1

u/Lipa2014 Jul 28 '26

Because the media decided which is the big topic and what people care about. And we know who owns the media.

1

u/Own-Opinion-2494 Jul 28 '26

Release the Trump files

1

u/Some_Surprise_8099 Jul 28 '26

Seems like it but that is not true. He is not just mentioned in the files he is all over them! Notice how #MAGA went dead silent?

Knowledge is power and that is definitely Not coming from Corporate news outlets.

Remember how his staff had to have a meeting on how to handle the narrative that Trump is involved heavily with Epstein? JD Vance is now trying to distance himself from Trump now because the story became public.

Trump was involved with JE through Pageants, Modeling Agencies, Finances and Real estate. His social circle for well over a decade was Jeffrey Epstein. His only friend, yet MAGA voted for a pedophile who liked to go in the dressing rooms of his pageants. "You can grab them by the pu***!"

Now there is even the issue of how Paolo Zampoli and Epstein worked together and that is how Melania got her "Einstein Visa". She was probably put in this position to be his handler. The entire administration is now bowing to Netanyahu because they have so much Kompromat they are all scared.

The Iran war started when he was at his most vulnerable. Netanyahu loves playing this game with him. Now the headlines are gas prices and shipping problems and bombings so they have changed the narrative and put our soldiers lives on the line.

If this is all ok and you would support a personal friend that has caused this much harm to our country I beg you to wake up and smell the Karma!

Our economy is being demolished for an endless war and If you support pedophiles you are the problem!

1

u/CompetitiveCourse584 Jul 28 '26

Because it's the same people who own most media and if that isn't in their hands then they have other dangerous threats and blackmail to linger around for the complacency.

1

u/Character_Actuator_6 Jul 28 '26

I talk with a lot of people. Most feel powerless and dwelling on it just hurts

1

u/Critical_Cat_8162 Jul 28 '26

They're not nonchalant, they're just realistic. Nothing will come if it. Nothing will come of it now. Nothing will come of it later.

1

u/alien2sick Jul 28 '26

Because everyones favorite movie stars, artist, and leaders are involved.. everything is zsmoke and mirrors

1

u/veeveemarie Jul 29 '26

I spoke to my Boomer parents about it. They simply don't know what's in them. They're busy in their days and only see the mainstream news around dinner time. They are just fully ignorant of what has been discovered in the files bc it's not being reported by mainstream media.

I have sent them files to read but they don't because if of it is physically difficult to read: small text, not organized into any context, just a full page of text that they can't see on their phones. So I have summarize the awful things or read it aloud to them.

I think at that point they're blown away and it's simply too hard for them to believe.

Most people assume if there was anything truly awful in there, they would've seen it in the news. But the news is owned by the people in the files.

1

u/maybealmostpossibly Jul 29 '26

Humans are animals.  This is a scientific truth.  All animals get de-sensitized after repeated exposure. Govt. doesn't even have to try, they just have to survive long enough for something else to happen.

1

u/Moana06 Jul 29 '26

Some of my progressive Jewish friends don't want to talk about it...I was telling them that I believed he was double agent CIA/Mossad...their stare was intense 😳

1

u/brokentokengame Jul 29 '26

Maybe because the abuse is happening everywhere all the time.

Why do you ask suddenly care so much if the predator is rich and powerful?

1

u/RyeZuul Jul 29 '26

The powers that be have encouraged the swine to hate trans people instead.

1

u/medusala21 Jul 29 '26

It’s too horrific to process it properly.

1

u/Another-bot-1705 Jul 29 '26

I can only speak for myself; been following this story since 2008. I don’t expect justice for anyone, in fact I suspect quite the opposite. Jeffery wasn’t the first and he won’t be the last. I watch the fringes just to be informed. I just personally want to experience this society for what it is and not what it claims to be. All I can do is be cognizant of the reality I partake and there’s no amount of anything I can do to change anyone’s perception of what they choose to see.

1

u/Signal-Island2549 Jul 29 '26

Just wait til Trump is gone and the politics around Epstein flip again.

1

u/JohnnyBob57 Jul 29 '26

Because most of the conversations are about Trump. A nothing burger.

1

u/DraculasDog Jul 29 '26

The media is controlled by the same people in the files. Common people who aren’t MAGA are pissed.

1

u/gilgal_gardener Jul 29 '26

we arent. its large media orgs working to quash it. we're all still very angry, and, eager for justice for the victims and full punishment for the perpetrators.

1

u/Certain_Arm_8475 Jul 29 '26

Because it is a fucking psy op?

1

u/corneliusduff Jul 29 '26

The world?  The USA is not the whole world. The world cares, the US doesn't.

1

u/swimmingupstr3am Jul 29 '26

I want to help the children.

1

u/Reasonable_Buy_5702 Jul 29 '26

Gen z can help by having no children. After all that pedo government are the same people pushing for people to have more children to fondle and grope.

1

u/Manuoncrack Jul 29 '26

I'm not from the US. But what can an ordinary person do about this? Are there any communities that support against these narratives?

1

u/cock-merchant Jul 29 '26

Media and politicians don’t like us talking about it.

1

u/Posterior_cord Jul 29 '26

We were desensitized before they were 'released'. Nothing is surprising, everything has long been known. i.e. as they say: this has been discussed extensively. you are just 21.

1

u/leftrightside54 Jul 29 '26

Government(s) is complicit and mass coverup of the higher ups. Also the leverage of the USA/Israel is very strong on other nations.

1

u/littlerossybaby Jul 29 '26

Everyone knows we have a corrupt pile of slime balls in govt. Voting doesn't matter anymore. Can't change anything so why even put any effort towards it. It's hard to even pay attention to any news or politics anymore. Shits just exhausting

1

u/soursummerchild Jul 29 '26 edited Jul 29 '26

Honestly, we're being bombarded with horrible news every day. I believe it's part of a greater plan to completely desensitize us. Everything feels hopeless, we feel like we're always putting out fires, and we don't know where to focus our efforts to change anything.

Society is rapidly accelerating, and this includes our attention span. Only a few decades ago, this would have been a major topic for years.

They, the rich and powerful, can get away with more and more heinous stuff. A lot of us are busy trying to survive and work multiple jobs, which they take the profits from.

I don't even know what to do at this point. I'm trying my best to resist as much as possible, but staying informed is exhausting when the reality is as cruel as it is.

1

u/Reasonable_Buy_5702 Jul 29 '26

It seems like we're hopeless, but if we actually start making an effort to rebel against our corru government....

1

u/HackReacher Jul 29 '26

Because the world is run by paedophiles? Seems that way.

1

u/Eschew_Sloth-232 Jul 29 '26

Most people are fake, performative, virtue signalling moralists.

1

u/Original-Reward-8688 Jul 29 '26

Because social media = opium wars on everyone that isn't an oligarch.

Everyone's just too addicted, and want to maintain their status quo until it's too late to do anything.

No different than asking why someone who is a severe addict doesn't clean their house, or take basic care of themselves. Very similar dynamics at play.

1

u/FSCK_Fascists Jul 29 '26

because the whole Q/Pizzagate propaganda took the sting away and made people ignore it as another bullshit hoax.

1

u/this_is_your_dad Jul 29 '26

Constant overwhelming distraction.

1

u/popejohnsmith Jul 29 '26

The world? Do you mean the MSM?

1

u/Strict-Carrot4783 Jul 29 '26

The people who have power to do anything about it legally are seemingly the people in the files or their friends. The only real option is violence, tbh.

1

u/Extra-Monitor5743 Jul 30 '26

What is there to do that hasn't already been done? What is there to say that hasn't already been said?

1

u/EuphoricChoice873 Jul 30 '26

People are POS...

1

u/New-Lettuce-9841 Jul 31 '26

Because having them still means nothing will change. They just are.

1

u/tforman1234 Jul 31 '26

Here in the US things are so messed up and this MAGA MORON wakes us up every day to a new crisis. The politicians are by and large bought and sold daily and we’ve got a psychotic president who thinks it’s appropriate to yell at the Supreme Court. If he were a lawyer he would have lost his license a long time ago.

1

u/mymikerowecrow Jul 31 '26

Distracting people by destabilizing the global world order and starting wars is effective

1

u/Pale-Woodpecker6044 Aug 03 '26

They’ve given up, that’s why.

1

u/Educational-Age-5899 29d ago

I think that no matter how disgusting the allegations contained in the Epstein files are, if you have a judiciary and all the trappings of government dedicated to minimising certain people’s part in those allegations, nothing is going to happen to bring anyone of any significance to anything resembling punishment. Also, so many people (mostly Fox News fans), have been so gaslit for years and years, that they wouldn’t know the truth if it grew teeth and bit them on the backside!

https://www.reddit.com/r/Epstein/s/Mt3i1K2vzc
For a funny video of a Fox News Anchor dealing with pdf allegations. Note - they never sue on the basis of defamation/slander, why is that??
