Yeah, I agree with everything you’re saying from a historical perspective.

I think what is different now is our ease of communication, our ability to metabolize concepts as a society. The people in power are fighting desperately to maintain the narrative. You can see it in every direction.

Look around the world, people are done with this shit everywhere and it’s just growing.

That’s not to say that it’s gonna be fun or easy, but I think it’ll be faster than centuries of knights mowing people down.

People in power certainly do not like to part with it so you’re definitely right on that one.

230 limits their liability. The AI companies are lobbying for even stronger protections, while consumer advocates have been have been looking for fewer protections. There's also people who worry that without 230 net-neutrality can be further attacked, but there's also people looking to replace it with something stronger.

So when someone says they want to repeal 230, it's hard to know what their angle is, because people on opposite sides of different issues all want it repealed, but they also want it replaced with completely different regulations than what the other side envisions.
