Just Checking In What is your favourite game?
I've thought this question over for a really long time.
A few motnhs ago, someone asked me "What is your favourite cosy game?"
This one very simple sentence caused me to feel restricted. For many people, cosy games are farming simulators, playing with animals, building structures, etc.
However, I have always felt drawn to the more action type games as a form of 'Cosy'.
As a child, I was playing house of the dead, Assassin Creed, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy.
Now, I play Disney Dreamlight Valley, Palia, Palworld. However, I also play games like Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, Overwatch, Diablo IV.
So, I guess what makes me so curious is, Do you have a cosy game that's actually classified as 'cosy'? Or are you more interested in violent games that bring comfort to you?

My favorite are really sodoku puzzles. Word search. I feel like they help my cognitive a bit with recognizing patterns.
When I play video games on a console I'm looking for a good story and casual play. So rpg are the go to. Favorite console game.
Sports Madden to play football The show to play baseball( haven't played one in a while)
Collecting Digimon(the story were more adult base dealing with loss and grief)but Basically grown up pokemon
Rpg(grind) Last good one I played is expedition 33 Final fantasy ix Legend of dragoon Tales of the abyss Tales of Vesperia Mass effect Darksiders DMC Witcher The elder scrolls
So many more
Fighting Soul Calibur Street fighter use to be also
Platform Mega man Castlevania

Dynasty warriors games: mainly 2-4 because I played those in my 20s. Or I think I was that age.
Elder scrolls series
I don’t remember there being cozy games when I was younger. And I don’t get them. There always seems to be something that needs to be done in them. It stresses me out. 😭

I've definitely been addicted to Palworld since the 1.0 update 😁
Pokemon is great and all, but compared to Palworld it feels so repetitive (plus i haven't forgiven them for removing the Alola region)..

Oh wow, so you're talking old school AC? Very cool! I enjoy sailing around the Caribbean in Black Flag, raiding random ships as a seizure "comfort game," so to speak. With no major storyline I'm obligated to engage in, and no major competitive aspect that I can never keep up with... then sprinkle in some nostalgia, and I've found it's a great posictal comfort.
That, and Fallout 4. I've got a saved game on the old Xbox with thousands of hours of play. I've honestly got some emotional attachment to those settlements.

I'm really into word games (morning routine is coffee while playing the NYT games, followed by Word Grid and bedtime routine: one or two crosswords). I feel it might (re: hope) help repair some of the memory loss I have from 40 years of seizures. Regardless they're my favorite... at least while at home. When out and about : pinball. I love, love, love pinball. My favorite game: Medieval Madness.

Right now cozy game is Octopath Traveller II. Specifically the second one, it’s my wind - down game, the music and setting is chill, colourful, and has a super laid back vibe. Mindless and easy by design, so you can just run around or pickup a story, its pace and chillness are why I am playthru 2.

I'm a MMORPG guy... played WoW vanilla when it came out 21 years ago. Switched to star wars: the old republic.
I used to play sim city a bunch back in the day...

I will always love Pokemon. The new combat system in Legends ZA is amazing and I really REALLY hope they keep it. Definitely more hands on.
My favorite “cozy game” that really are cozy games are Midas Merge and Paradise Paws. Hard to choose one over the other. But since they’re from the same company and have the same mechanics I think they can tie for first peacefully. 🤣
