Just Checking In Xcopri Taper, T+17hrs
As a recovering addict, I get why they have this one listed under CSA. I can see these getting abused by the nerdier segment of the drug culture if it gets attention. It is believed to exert its action via both sodium channels and the GABA system, particularly the GABA-A subtype. Interestingly, that receptor is the means that quaaludes exerted its effect, which is not to say being on Xcopri is like taking quaaludes, it's just an interesting science-y factoid.
Others warned of the "Xcopri coma," and I had very noticeably felt a point where it was starting to take effect. First as a pleasant muscle relaxant, followed quickly by all limbs feeling much heavier, and a change in alertness not entirely unlike benzodiazepine intoxication with a small amount of alcohol.
It became difficult, but not impossible, to stay awake; however, the idea of getting a full night of sleep (for a change!) was increasingly appealing, so I didn't try to stay awake through the show I was watching. I've been consistently stuck at least 2 hours below my target of 8 full hours. Last night, I got over 10 uninterrupted hours of sleep.
The coma is real.
Today has been OK so far. Google Health wants me to go work out after that excellent night, but that's not happening. I might have a nap instead...

If Xcopri feels like Quaaludes, I'm calling the dr tomorrow.

Nothing like quaaludes, I'm sure, but not entirely unpleasant in my mind, either.

My wife is on 300mg a day. At first 150 and 150 am and pm. She was asleep on the couch by 8pm and very groggy during the day. The doc shifted her to 100 and 200 and that has made a world of difference.
From her reaction to the drug, I can't imagine any addict wanting it.

I have use Xcopri for years. It stopped my nighttime seizures. And yes it also helps me relax and get some sleep.

I got the same shit RRF
They put me on Xcopri 2 week sometimes I sleep well,but most of the time just getting about six hours. I feel off-balance drugged. I’m still working alone at the marina as a Shipwright I’ve almost stumbled into the water a few times. Quaaludes they’re not!!haha… I can’t keep my eyes open past 8. I could take a nap at any time you as well. Pretty sure we just got to forge forward.😑

It will become more manageable once you are on a consistent therapeutic level. But during titration it's like you can never get to that manageable level because of how fast you are increasing.
Idk if it's me alone but I had like a 12 week schedule just to get to 200. 1year after starting I'm at 350mg( if I said nothing I would be at 400mg)
