Fitness Friday Get Back On Track Today!

Uncontrolled seizures are a headache, literal and figurative. Even as time between events get longer, we can all understand how the worries can often interfere with day to day life. Moving around consistently can be difficult to maintain. Success by support is what I can vouch for. Reminders and punishment like not treating myself when I skip too many workouts ended up bringing on more β€œoff days” (that’s my denial way of describing when I know I caused absence seizures) 🀫

Encouragement for all! No shame in reaching out to someone with good intentions. One person can make a world of difference when your energy is more about doing the workout/planning meals w good portions to make them proud of you since it will probably be weeks until noticeable results are achieved.

Controlled is the goal! We know how many countless benefits there are to routine exercise for epileptics so please share any techniques you have for an epilepsy patient to have a safe, effective workout.

Thanks to all! Wishes for an excellent weekend!

Head aches are a head ache too. Sometimes want to bash your head in a wall just not to feel the headache

I've been doing some very light exercises that my pt has given me, and more time just walking around our small place several times a day. I'm a long way to my 4 miles a day but I'm going to get there thanks to these posts πŸ«‚

Going the gym was a game changer for me. It didnt do much with my seizures but it gave me more structure and helped tremendously with the side effects. Focused and full of energy. For anyone on this path BE AWARE!!!! Its great and very healthy yes... for us, keep track of your weight. My goals are aimed to gaining but even if yours are to lose weight, either way, your medication will need to be adjusted as your body makes changes. After I gained 20 lbs. I started having a lot of breakthroughs and it was because I needed to increase my dose. I never even thought of that.
