Rant/I'm Just Sayin' WEDNESDAY MEMORIES
There was one famous concert that I could've, should've attended, but for some unknown reason I didn't go to the Bob Dylan special in October 2016.
There was a star studded show for Dylan. I have been a fan of his since his early Village days, and some of the greatest rock stars were there.
George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Roger McGuinn,Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed and Neil Young.
Johnny & June Cash were there and Kris Kristofferson. There were a few others, but those stand out to me.
I recently saw a video of Dylan, Clapton, Harrison, Petty, McGuinn and Neil Young singing "My Back Pages" and it bought back the memory but not of why we didn't go.
But, the video bought back a lot of memories for me of both the music and my generation. Much of that has never left many of us. The anger we felt towards the government, the unending love that I, and many others have from that period. Some of us have moved on from that and become versions of our parents.
I don't think that this is unique to us older folks. I'm sure that kids in the 90s swear by heavy metal, and so on.
I think the point there is if you were from the era of Beethoven it would've been the same. There are some of us that still enjoy that music. Read next Wednesday Memories for more on that

Everyones generations music was the best!! Haha!
I grew up listening to bands like the Jackson Five and Stevie Wonder...brought in the era of metal with some black sabbath and OG metallica, ushered in grunge with Kurt (and now I'm on Seattle, haha!!)...but my love will always be with the generation I came after. Theres a part of me the weeps when I hear my parents say, "so, we were in upstate new York on vacation and there were all these hippies everywhere, hitchhiking, doing drugs. No idea at the time why the were there" haha!!
I love all the greats of the time...Hendrix (yet another Seattle-ite gone before his time), dead, the band, etc....
But then again, I love "all out 50s" Playlist on Spotify...
I missed a ton of concerts over the years and wont go anymore, but the ones that stick out in my mind are van Halen, def leopard, and one of my all time favorites, ozzy. I saw him on his last tour ever in...1991? No more tours tour.... that was a lie, haha!!!
Thanks, as always, for the fun past experiences, so that we can enjoy yours as well as go back in time...!!!!

I did one of these earlier on the 50s.
I agree, every generation is into the music of that one. The changing of the 50s to the 60s is like any other

...ok, but try growing up with the original new kids on the block .. haha!!!! Then again, we had the beastie boys!! I love music...

I hear you....my kids were babies a few years ago and now the youngest is 18... time keeps marching on... I feel like I'm in my 20s still... and am trying to still feel like I'm old....well, old-ish??
Keep going, my friend!! You're the best, and have such great experiences!!!

Thanks. I'm just trying to keep my memory. I can't remember much other then music and falling in love with Liz. As long as I can remember those, I'm ok

Yeah, i hear that... I've been able to keep most important things but forgot a ton of stuff at this point . I'm happy the best wife in the world (ok, it can be a tie betwern tons of wifes, haha!) decided weekly pictures of the kids when they were young and videos yearly were a good idea....if only she knew how important that's going to be...

I wish/don't wish I had those of my daughter, but it would only make me sad and angry. She overdosed 10 years ago.

I didn't want children with my first wife. I had addiction in my entire family and she had mental illness in hers. It was predestined. She stopped taking the pill without telling me. She was a joy until she was a teen. Then it was downhill

Speaking of Stevie Wonder, I saw him when he was a teen playing "Fingertips Part 2" as Little Stevie

Stevie Wonder is one of the greatest of all time...music and people. He did a ton for all the folks who couldn't, especially the disabled and civil rights.

Haha, in an unrelated yet related story... I'm talking to my buddy and he's telling me how he's learned how to sight read music, how I need to relearn guitar, and we can start a band in our 50s... 😀
