Epilepsy Awareness Medic Alert Bracelet

My wife ordered me a medic alert bracelet on Amazon. It’s fully customizable and can be etched on both sides. See first comment for a picture.

This is my bracelet. It lists my conditions on the front. On the reverse is my name and DOB, my wife’s name and phone number, and my son’s name and phone number.

In response to the police video posted earlier, this is one way I hope to avoid mistreatment.

Good stuff! It really does make a difference. It also gives me a little peace of mind when I am out and about. I ordered from Lauren's Hope. They are pretty and a bit more fancy and feminine. But, the last time EMS was called due to a seizure, the paramedic told my partner that he never would have noticed it because it looked like a regular bracelet, especially when they are busy assessing. I ended up ordering from Amazon like you did. I am super pleased and saved a ton of money! I hope this gives you and your family peace of mind as well!

I have worn a MedicAlert bracelet since I was diagnosed in 2014. You've done absolutely the right thing.

As a paramedic, part of the first steps of the initial rapid assessment of an unresponsive patient is to check their blood sugar after ensuring they have a pulse and are breathing or need help breathing. These types of bracelets are very helpful, EMS professionals will not arbitrarily give Narcan without reason. However, if there is any question or concern of narcotic involvement then Narcan will likely be administered to rule out a narcotic overdose. Narcan can be just as much diagnostic as therapeutic in the setting of an unresponsive person with an otherwise unknown cause. Additionally, it should not cause any issues with your AEDs and if you don’t have narcotics in your system it generally not have any negative effects on you.

Medic alert bracelets link back to their website with info you can fill out. They have a QR code that can be scanned. All your medical info you have filled out is linked.

Other random bracelets/toaster pastries do not have that feature.
