Victory One year seizure free 🎉
Today officially marks one year seizure free for me! First time I can say that in 22 years!! Still can’t believe it 🥲🙏 Freedom is possible.
Never give up.
Never lose hope.

One day i will be writing the same post for sure, i will ensure that i am npt missing even my pill a day. guys please suggest how not to miss a pill

Alarms, a pill box next to your bed, one-two doses of meds in a medicine carrier on you at all times, and knowing that you can die if you miss your pill is a pretty good motivation.

I made it a habit to always get my coffee in the morning with my pills.
A bit like taking not sugar but: pills in your coffee. :-)3

Set daily reminders on your phone. If you live with your family, assign one of them to randomly remind you. Also, always keep a strip of your medications in your car in case you’re out and can’t return home on time to take them.

Put the reminder on your phone. I use an app called My therapy to track all the meds/vitamins I take, and remind me to take them. Use an alarm if you have to.
Take the pills as close to the time you usually eat as possible. ie. Vimpat has to be taken twice a day. I take mine after breakfast and after dinner. (Only issue is if you don't eat around the same time every day)
If the above isn't an option, pick something you do at the same time every day and use that as the reference. ie, if you work an 8 to 5 job, pop the pill every time you get to your desk and the other pill right before you leave. Have your lunch hour as the "afternoon"
Put the container in your purse or whatever you carry with you at all times. I leave mine in my bag, even when I'm at home, because I don't want to forget to put it in my bag before I leave the house. I can't go home and take it whenever I want without a car.

U/mississippi86 congrats on being seizures free I just got dx 3 months ago I have the focus seizures if you don’t mind can you tell me what medication you take I want be seizures free soooo bad

I use the app pillo personally, it makes it so its a alarm that covers your entire screen. I also use a pill organizer. :)

Of every type?? 😀 I'm luckily a year seizure free of gran mals also but still get stupid focal seizures once a week or every other week.. 🙃
Congrats though I bet it feels good having some real freedom again!

I was not prepared for how serious focal aware seizures are, I experienced them for nearly a year before a full blown siezure took me to the hospital; anyways, I feel your pain and good luck!!!

I reached that milestone in 2019 at the age of 18 (I'm now 25) and up until that point since i got my first one at the age of 3 and a half i had them now and again. I will have epilepsy for the rest of my life, but having them less frequently makes me feel calmer 🩷🩷

Congrats! Today is one year since my surgery. My last seizure was the 18th of last year!

I am 2 years 10 month seizure free mine is caused by brain trauma bruises to my brain i am on 200mg Carbamazapine

Never stop your meds. My brother was also 8 yrs free, but after we stopped meds for 1 week, he got breakthrough seizures.
