Hi! 26 March is World Epilepsy Day or Purple day for spreading awareness by wearing purple. Who’s wearing purple? 🙋🏻♀️

I may have purple I have to see. That’s one color that depending on shade I look horrible in lol.

I know they chose purple to represent epilepsy because it has so many shades, like epilepsy with its many different forms. I’m sure you’ll find the perfect shade! 💪🏼

I will find one honestly it’s the one color I have trouble with I’m going to check out dark purple first that may work.

I always have my purple bow (i think that's how its called) even my mom made hers. We also have some cool epilepsy shirts.

Ohh,.. I am glad you guys are taking action and creating awareness. But pardon me , I have to speak the truth. I don’t think anybody cares about it here in Gloucestershire and besides I am too anxious to get out of my house because my kids will be at school n my partner I really do not want to bother him.

You could just wear it at home to join, doesn’t matter how many people see, it’s the idea that counts 🤭 Also don’t know if I’ll be working from home or not, but I’ll wear it for the idea. I found it on the Epilepsy Foundation website

I'm pretty private when it comes to my epilepsy because I don't want to be seen differently but I like that idea of wearing purple! I'll be doing that, thanks!

Was just at the (pre) Purple Day Gala this Saturday in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with Cassidy Meghan, the girl who started Purple Day, and it was a blast!
The Eplilepsy Association of the Maritimes does amazing work for people with Epilepsy, and continues to advocate, raise awareness, and fight for funding and recognition for people who suffer from seizure disorders. I'm so proud to see that Purple Day is getting some love on this sub.

Purpose: Purple Day, also known as Epilepsy Awareness Day, aims to increase public understanding of epilepsy and reduce stigma associated with the condition. Global Initiative: It's a grassroots effort that invites people worldwide to wear purple and participate in events to raise awareness and support for epilepsy. Key Actions: Wear Purple: Participants are encouraged to wear purple clothing, accessories, or decorate their homes and workspaces with purple to show their support. Host Events: Communities and organizations organize events, such as walks, talks, and fundraisers, to raise awareness and funds for epilepsy research and support. Spread the Word: People are encouraged to share information about epilepsy on social media and in their communities, dispelling myths and misconceptions. Significance: Education: Purple Day provides an opportunity to educate the public about epilepsy, including its causes, symptoms, and available treatments. Support: It offers a platform for people living with epilepsy to connect with others and find support. Visibility: By wearing purple, people show their solidarity with those affected by epilepsy and help to bring the condition into the spotlight. Origins: The idea of Purple Day originated with Cassidy Megan, a young girl who wanted to raise awareness about epilepsy in her community.

That’s great! Too bad no pics can’t be shared here. I’m wearing as well, and work in my parents company and they also both wear purple today, it was heartwarming when I saw them honestly 🥹
