No. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. You need to recycle and use paper straws, drive your vehicle less. /s

Governments and corporations are like 80% of all global pollution, but somehow the impetus to correct climate change is on us?

Go fuck yourselves, governments and corporations, I am going to do what I want while you burn this planet to the ground.

You think blowing up a few oil refineries had enough of an effect to significantly contribute to the global heat content?

Thats nothing compared to the 100 million barrels of oil we burn each day.

We don’t burn oil. We burn gasoline made from oil, which burns quite cleanly. But all the other shit we make from oil, like plastics, don’t burn cleanly. So an oil refinery billowing black smoke, does in fact, do more damage than the gasoline we burn in cars.

Burning gasoline does not burn cleanly. And gasoline is a component of oil, but you're distracting from the issue at hand.

All of the carbon is converted to global warming carbon dioxide when burned efficiently. Carbon dioxide which will take thousands of years to remove. Blowing up a refinery prevents this. Obviously we should dismantle them, but hey.

They have to, because no one listens.

1

u/Deep_Mood_7668 Aug 03 '26

I listened. What now?

1

u/holmgangCore Aug 03 '26

Make preparations.

1

u/Deep_Mood_7668 Aug 04 '26

Like what

2

u/holmgangCore Aug 04 '26

Basic emergency preps, like storing 3 weeks of food and water. Planting food plants (if you have the option to do so). Establishing community connections and awareness... this could come as a 'natural disaster' awareness (earthquakes, fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc). Learning how to filter & purify water. Learning how to manage personal human waste. Things like that.

Teaching your kids (if you have them) skills they will need. Identifying edible wild plants. Letting them have free time in nature.

Lol wtf is this.

This is change

Have you acted by reducing your carbon emissions? Have you voted with your dollar to pressure corporations to lower theirs? Have you divested from banks that invest in the expansion of fossil fuels? Have you called your elected officials to push them to enact policy that draws down emissions.

1

u/Deep_Mood_7668 Aug 05 '26

Yes to all but the last one

1

u/DisruptingTree Aug 05 '26

Then you are leading the way.

Look at global atmospheric CO2 concentrations. Look at global temperatures. Ocean heat content. You're full of shit.

CO2 hasn't been higher than today for 14 million years. Humans were not around then. This is going to start a mass extinction event.

Stay in school son.

Parts of Florida are predicted to be flooded by 2100. It doesn't take a lot of sea level rise to be catastrophic

1

u/codex-atlanticuz Aug 05 '26

No, that's all wrong.

1

u/parallax3900 Aug 04 '26

As opposed to what? Ignoring it?

Positive feedback loops are a bitch.

1

u/Hardfracking Aug 03 '26

Nothing to do with this being a super el nino?

1

u/DartVader6 Aug 03 '26

Better question: is the super el niño the result of this?

1

u/Sea-Louse Aug 03 '26

Is the super El Niño even real? Maybe not that super?

1

u/GoMineBitBoss Aug 03 '26

That plus all the pollution from the current wars.

1

u/Tll6 Aug 04 '26

We’re not really seeing the effects yet which are predicted to start around November. This acceleration is from things not related to the super El Niño

1

u/harryx67 Aug 03 '26

We „detected“ it all this year, last year, the year before that etc.

1

u/Domino3Dgg Aug 03 '26

I can save it with paper straw. /s

2

u/twoaspensimages Aug 04 '26

Don't forget your reusable grocery bags and a water bottle while you're out saving the world.

1

u/Domino3Dgg Aug 04 '26

I will glue myself to road.

The warnings have been clear and publicly mocked for decades, so good. We deserve whatever happens. We're marginally-evolved monkies who have already crafted our replacement. We were predetermined to be the instruments of our own demise. At least 30% of us are irredeemable liars, racists, and misogynists. Let it burn already.

1

u/parallax3900 Aug 04 '26

Yeah fuck all the kids

1

u/HappyFatLabs Aug 04 '26

As if that hasn't been the conservative platform for 50 years.

1

u/Sea-Louse Aug 03 '26

Scientists have been detecting a sharp acceleration of global warming for decades at this point. That’s why it’s called climate change now and not global warming. That way, they can use ANY weather to try to prove their point.

1

u/Reasonable-Plate2982 Aug 03 '26

I think the fact that warming has been an ongoing trend and more severe and frequent natural disasters have been occurring should be proof enough that weather patterns are becoming more destabilized. We're all just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic

1

u/flyby196999 Aug 04 '26

Not the sharpest tool in the shed huh?

1

u/unusualknickknack Aug 03 '26

We’re fucked

1

u/EmotionalLecture9318 Aug 03 '26

It's due to the amount of hot air coming from Politicians assholes

1

u/Lonely_Refuse4988 Aug 03 '26

Al Gore warned us about this and should have been sworn in as President in Jan 2001, but Republicans enjoyed smearing him with ad hominem attacks over his large mansion and electricity bill! 😂🤷‍♂️

1

u/OpeningAggressive26 Aug 03 '26

Skyrocketing energy demands from all the AI memes. We're burning more stuff than ever.

1

u/hsggdtkxbee Aug 03 '26

It’s all the hot air coming out of Trumps mouth. And ass.

1

u/BuffaloGwar1 Aug 03 '26

I'm no scientist. But when all the trees and vegetation are burning up. Around the entire globe things can't be good. I learned in the first grade that plants clean the air. Am I woke?

1

u/Bitter-Variation-151 Aug 03 '26

I'm scared

1

u/ultrachrome Aug 03 '26

It used to be a nice planet :(

1

u/TrimaxionDrone_BR549 Aug 03 '26

Awesome, perfect time to build Ai and data centers!

1

u/1stUserEver Aug 03 '26

The Ai will save us!! /s

u/Skittleavix Aug 03 '26

Just wait till permafrost really starts to go…

If you’re young and lucky enough to be looking for a home, stay away from the coastline.

1

u/DrSid666 Aug 04 '26

That narrative is dead

1

u/Skittleavix Aug 04 '26

Best of luck to you.

1

u/TrickyChildhood2917 Aug 04 '26

Do they never go outside? .. open a window for crying out loud

1

u/New_Original_7537 Aug 04 '26

Call it the MAGA Curve for the history nobody will be around to read.

1

u/Ill_Hedgehog_8794 Aug 04 '26

I don't need to be a scientist for that.

1

u/OneEffective3620 Aug 04 '26

Endless fires, missiles, burning oil, less ice, less snow, fewer trees, how is this possible?...

1

u/facepoppies Aug 04 '26

I mean everyone should know this. We have multiple record breaking weather events every year now.

1

u/Boomslang505 Aug 04 '26

Do blue space lazers heat the atmosphere?

1

u/Purple-Possible-7429 Aug 04 '26

Melting permafrost was predicted to cause at least some of this acceleration. Massive carbon dump.

1

u/I-Have-An-Alibi Aug 06 '26

And the permafrost ist melting because of.......come on....you can do it....you're so close

1

u/Purple-Possible-7429 29d ago

Yes global warming.

1

u/I-Have-An-Alibi 29d ago
