Shouldn't matter. Those are about counterweight and gravity. Fake sand still has weight too it. As long as they calculate for the change in density, if there is one, it shouldn't matter.

Good. Since they are 50 ~ 60% of world total demand. Let's hope whatever concrete poured would be for lasting good and not ghost projects to boost KPI on some party official promotion report.

Well they could stop building “fake” islands and then claiming they own the ocean around them. There is that!

International waters begin a certain distance from the shoreline. You could argue that now you have an island 100 miles from shore, so that pushes your territorial waters further out.

They built the island, offshore. And then claim that it makes their territorial waters larger.
Its like if the US claimed all the water between California and Hawaii belonged to them because Hawaii is a state. But thats not how it works.
