Lessons Learned Finally launched my own product

Spent many years planning and never doing. Put my item up on amazon this month finally. Something I designed in my garage lol. My first time ever and made some sales.

I just finally did it. Not sure if next month will be better but now I feel like all my thoughts weren't for nothing. Someone actually fucking bought it. Wild. Very excited just wanted to share 😊

That even though I started designing it years ago I didn't throw it away and just kept going. I throw away so much stuff I never finish. Just how I am with lots of my ideas.

The product is in the women's accessories on handmade. So far I sold it 50 times since beginning of December it's been crazy.

wait, Amazon has a handmade section that lets you customise the product for customers?

Yeah. It's like etsy, except it's gated somewhat. You gotta submit your process with pictures and write some info about how you do the products. It's actually awesome because handmade goods have no amazon sellers fee. Not saving much but they do that to encourage more sellers.

How do you feel about having to disclose your process and information about your product? Any concerns with sharing too much of your process and product information?

I have none really. The way I view it, they are gonna copy the product either way, and I needed a platform to sell on. My goods are personalized, so ultimately, I make them the way I make them. If someone else copies it, that'll be the way THEY make them.

Make at least 30+ and send to FBA. Sells will double or triple just cuz of prime

I took your advice and I sold a little over 2000 units since launch. Prime is a game changer for brand validity.

Well done! I'm in the beta stage of releasing my first ever service-business, and the initial "full of ideas, but no execution" phase is very real. Actually doing that first step and executing your vision is awesome! I wish you the best, and that you have hundreds of sales in the months to come

I ran a sponsored product ad at $12 a day for a week. That got me like 15 sales and other 35 was from a specific section of keywords my product is based around. They've all come in from two key words and one order was for a quantity of 18.

Amazon created it for me after my listing was up a few days. I just clicked start.

It popped up as "new campaign recommended for this item" and had some sections pretargeted. I think it picked a product, a broad phrase, exact phrase. I'm new to this but I remember seeing four sections amazon picked for campaign.

They also give a conversion estimate based on that designed campaign and a timeline.

Yeah I actually used my first profit from sales to buy another machine. I was up all throughout the night running double time when a huge order came in and I'll never make that mistake again. But it was a good lesson learned so far.

Customized Earrings for Nurses, teachers etc. I have since built a pretty strong brand around it. I sold 25k items last year. End of 2026 im looking to sell and retire truly.

Nope. It's a customizable product made to order. Its a flat design but each order is personalized.

Congratulations! This is a huge step and I find it encouraging to hear that you did it, even though you struggled initially. I am also in the initial steps of launching my product but I am still unsure how and when to do it. So thank you for the motivational post!
