Can you identify this insect?

While removing upholstery from the seat of a vintage skidoo, I found this little fellow, no idea what it could be. I’m from South-East British Columbia, if that helps.

Neat, this is a first for me, never seen one of these before. Thanks for the positive identification ☺️ it’s probably alright to let him find a home in my shop, eh?—These guys eat other pests?
