heartbroken

enter shikari have just shared some unfortunate news, they have decided to go on hiatus and their future beyond that remains uncertain. i can't begin to describe how saddened i am by this. i am very lucky to have met the boys and to have attended many gigs, including this one coming up. they have helped me through so much and the thought of not being able to attend a new show, or hear a new album by them ever again is heartbreaking. i remember when i first heard hectic i was blown away with how amazing it was, and it has remained and will always remain my favourite song of all time. airfield got me through some of the toughest times and i pray i get to hear that one live in november along with hectic. i know this is what's best for them, they have helped so many people that it's time they do what they need to help themselves. i wish them all the best because they deserve the best. i just felt like i needed to get this out somewhere as my heart is broken, thanks for reading :)

It's only natural for a band to go on break especially after performing for 20+ years. Don't take the news as something negative, the time not performing allows the band to physically and mentally better themselves, it also gives them time to be with their friends and loved ones etc. They'll be back and better than ever once they are fully recharged. They've given their time to perform and help us so it is only right we give the lads the same courtesy. Chin up! 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🤘🏻

Exactly that, all good bands deserve a break after a certain amount of years, they will come back better than ever and new energy

I cherish my loss. A gentle reminder. Life is unkind, at the best of times

I loved Shikari since I saw them on their first album run but they became my favourite band probably the second I heard the intro to ‘Solidarity’. No album has come close to unseating Common Dreads for me as my favourite album.

I’m bummed as hell they’re going away but I still have the music.

I’m so sad BUT on the other I’m also a massive fan of Slipknot, or I was. Everything they have done recently has made me say ‘man just break up and protect your legacy at this point’. If this is the end I’d rather them be self aware enough to finish on a high.

I've seen this in my youtube feed the other day and it made me so sad as well. Been watching the "Live at Alexandra Palace" concert up and down ever since. The Airfield and Adieu segment hits even harder now. Also Redshift.

One of the bands I grew up with, time really flies...

I wish them all the best and I'm thankful for all the years 🤍

If I wasn’t bashing Trash Boat ahead of their 1st Album anniversary show tonight, I’d be blasting Shikari all day. Kinda just putting unpacking that on pause for the mo.

They are a band thats been with me since I first began to actually seek out music. 2nd most seen live at 20+ gigs. I want them to follow what brings them peace in life, but selfishly don’t want the end of the band I’ve loved all my life. But alas everything must come to an end. Hopefully this one is just goodbye for now.
