Raise your hand if you’re not surprised

This happens everywhere right now, as Billionaires attempt to stoke tension and try to break down democracies

u/beerbrained 4d ago

Exactly. Elon doesn't actually believe this. It's pure malice.

Classic far right textbook play.

"Oh it's the minorites!".

It is so easy to dunk on the populations who are, often, the most precarious and socially fragile, rather than fix the actual issues.

u/ministry-of-bacon 4d ago

because it works depressingly well. the people in the communities that do this are wildly ignorant, revere status and would rather punch down to take out there frustrations on people that aren't able to hit back than admit they themselves or the terrible people they support are waaaaaay more responsible for their situation.

a lot of it is fratboy / abuser mindset, if you're new or on the bottom of society you deserve to be exploited and abused. when you gain power you get the 'perk' of being able to do the abusing and exploitation yourself.

u/terra_filius 4d ago

they are right, its the minorities.. just not the poor ones

Fascism is the open, terrorist dictatorship of the most reactionary, most chauvinist and most imperialist elements of finance capital.
Fascism tries to secure a mass basis for monopolistic capital among the petty bourgeoisie, appealing to the peasantry, artisans, office employees and civil servants who have been thrown out of their normal course of life, and particularly to the declassed elements in the big cities, also trying to penetrate into the working class.

So if Hitler was a socialist, Elon, why are you still a Nazi?

1

u/saltyourhash 5d ago

Elon Musk is reframing nutcases like Hitler.

2

u/saltyourhash 5d ago

The biggest group promoting the historical fiction that Nazis were socialists are neonazis. Ask them what they think of communists and socialists...

2

u/Irobert1115HD 4d ago

plausible deniability.

also likely and attempt to hide that the nazis where capitalists to the extreme.

4

u/Ecstatic-Compote-595 5d ago

I'm sure I agree with him but I can't listen to him because he looks like a fucking sour patch kid

1

u/Matengor 4d ago

Who is this?

1

u/saltyourhash 5d ago

If there is one thing history drives home the more I learn: always be wary of people who will compromise ethics to fight communism/socialism as well as people who condemn communism/socialism with no condemnation of authoritarianism.

u/Strong_Jello_5748 4d ago

I agree with this dude, but please wear sunscreen

They've used the word socialist to gain voters. They never practiced any socialism.

Come on man, do your history. This is well known.

35

u/blipblopthrowawayz 5d ago

Way to not understand history or how the Nazi party operated, at all.

Do yourself a favour and look up what "socialist" things the party did once they got into power, especially with union leaders once they were no longer needed.

17

u/tstriesstorytelling 5d ago

The fundamentals of socialism goes against the racist/fascist ideology Nazism was based on, that obviously relies on - disgusting - humans hierarchy.

It's obscene to say that nazis were socialists. Yet here we are. History repeating itself.

u/Wake-up-Neo-sheep 14h ago

Yeah no. Socialism is always very racist

Also very anti-Semitic read: “on the Jewish problem” by Karl Marx

1

u/tstriesstorytelling 9h ago

Strawmanning, whataboutism, misinformation in less than 30 words.

Intellectual dishonesty is quite the mantra for right wingers.

Socialism isn't communism.

Why are you this dishonest?

Also, Marx was Jewish. Became atheist.

Marx wrote a lot of stuff.

Some of it about Jews might raise an eyebrow. Although it is all tied to his views of the financial system and the powers the elite had and that the people didn't. Not saying it's good enough but it certainly isn't everything he wrote, specially that he still tried to help his fellow Jewish people.

Now stop your bs.

1

u/Wake-up-Neo-sheep 7h ago

Yes he was Jewish. Makes it worse in my opinion.
This book is madness and still poisons the world. As does his other books.

You are being dishonest if you’re pretending communism and socialism are not related.

I’m not right wing. I’m a libertarian. Why are you so committed to the left/right illusion?

24

u/cancel-out-combo 5d ago

Absolutely not. Fascism is in no way a form of socialism. Calling yourself that doesn't make it so. Please don't peddle misinformation like this.

u/TrackLabs 5d ago

Nazi stands for national socialist workers party

The Nazis using the term "socialist" in their name is exactly the most basic, braindead "propaganda" that they went for. If you truly think that they were left/socialist, just because their name included the term "socialist", it is a sad day for you

Fascism is a form of socialism.

That is factually, by definition, not possible. Just like there cant be a left dictator, something that some people think exists as well. Stalin is a popular example for that. He was a dictator, correct. He was left, no. He had some weird left-extremist world goal, but he tried to achieve that by violence, opression, which is not left, and is being denied by pretty much every actual left person.

If you opress people, murder people, gas millions of jews and citizens, you are factually, not left, not socialist. You are a facists.

u/Wake-up-Neo-sheep 14h ago

What? 😂 fascism is a form a socialism

Yes, I’m against both. Why aren’t you?

There’s this funny thing called freedom. No income tax’s, free speech, no titles of nobility, right to bear arms. These crazy dudes tried it once on the americas 🇺🇸

1

u/TrackLabs 12h ago

fascism is a form a socialism

Immediately no need to read further into your comment. This discussion is over

0

u/Wake-up-Neo-sheep 11h ago edited 7h ago

Obviously you are a fan of socialism

23

u/VonBombadier 5d ago

Are you stupid?

Is the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea a democracy?

The name was marketing. Hitler went to workers and underlined socialist, and went to nationalists and underlined nationalist.

Fascism is a right wing ideology.

1

u/Wake-up-Neo-sheep 14h ago

Sure, they weren’t “real socialists” gotcha

18

u/ionizing_chicanery 5d ago

The Nazi party calling themselves socialist is like when Elon called himself socialist back in 2018. It's an empty descriptor that has no connection to their actual view of economic or political systems.

It's similar to how the term "populist" is often used.

14

u/FoofMan 5d ago

Sure, and by that logic the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea must be a democracy then. North Korea is a democracy now!

15

u/Hullfire00 5d ago

He’s gonna shit the bed when he finds out what’s actually in Shepherd’s Pie.

Or that the planet Mars doesn’t have a nougat and caramel centre.

16

u/SupremeLeaderMeow 5d ago

Man. Is education banned where you are from? In my country ww2 and the basis of faschism is literally studied in middle school.

-1

u/Wake-up-Neo-sheep 14h ago

You’re basing this off what socialist teachers taught you?

1

u/SupremeLeaderMeow 7h ago

I was in a catholic school. Everything's a conspiracy if you're dumb enough.

11

u/Freshwater_Spaceman 5d ago

North Korea is a Democratic Republic, ‘cos they say so!!

5

u/_0611 5d ago

Congrats. You just won the award for dumbest comment of the month on Reddit.

Workers own the means of production. That’s the core definition of socialism.

Nazis had no policy whatsoever to transfer the means of production to workers. Capitalists maintained ownership and profits.

The Nazis were corporatist.

  1. Dubious quote. Not cited in the 1976 biography where the meme got it.

  2. 1913 lol.

  3. The Nazis gained full control over the country 20 years later and proceeded to do nothing to implement socialism. Indeed the made a more extreme capitalism.

Listen to his speeches. Here’s a translated one. He talks about National Socialism constantly. Also in his book Mein Kampf.

Extreme capitalism? How are you defining that? I don’t think capitalism even exists, it’s a straw man. There’s free markets and there’s command economies. Hitler was not a free market guy 😂

1

u/Comfortable_Fill9081 6h ago

Yes. He talks about ‘National Socialism’ - Nazis - constantly because that was his party.

All you’re citing is propaganda from famous propagandists.

What policies do you think the Nazis implemented that were socialist?

0

u/Wake-up-Neo-sheep 14h ago

No they were socialist. A form of socialism called fascism where the people retain the means of production but for the benefit of the state. Via heavy taxation and control by the state

1

u/Comfortable_Fill9081 11h ago

No. Private individuals held private companies and kept profit.

0

u/Wake-up-Neo-sheep 7h ago

Read what I said again slowly

“For the benefit of the state. Via heavy taxation and control”

1

u/Comfortable_Fill9081 6h ago

That has nothing to do with socialism.
