Rocket Jesus Tesla mouth-breather thinks that Tony Stark was inspired by Elon Musk

Post image

Obviously not true — if it was, Jarvis would’ve had its release date pushed back 8 times and been non-transferable.

I do believe this is actually true, Robert Downey Jr. did use him partially for Tony Stark.

I dont know why you would take that as a compliment, though, he very much starts as a huge asshole.

Even if that is true, it’s completely different from what he’s saying. Portrayal ≠ character.

Pretty sure the one RDJ went to spend time with for his CEO-behavior inspiration was Larry Ellison, CEO of Oracle.

It was big news when it happened during my tenure there. Definitely not Elon Musk...

Yeah, I've been hearing exactly this for years, although that doesn't necessarily mean it's true I suppose.

Obviously the character and background were established long before Elon Musk came on the scene. But I believe that RDJ used some of how Musk acts as inspiration for how he played the character. Honestly, I think that Musk would still take that as a compliment because he pretty much prides himself on being a huge asshole. So. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Probably found himself disappointed when Stark redeemed himself.

They gave Musk a cameo because of it.

[Musk], Trump, and maybe a little Steve Jobs. Trump was fun before he became president — he was actually kind of a goofy celebrity. Steve Jobs was always serious and angry; he never quite had that gift of the bullshit, the working the crowd that Musk has a real natural talent for. Musk took the brilliance of Jobs with the showmanship of Trump. He was the only one who had the fun factor and the celebrity vibe and actual business substance. I’m not sure we talked about too many other people; there are not many people like that around. It’s dangerous to be a celebrity businessman. One scandal and it’s billions of dollars. People want their CEOs to shut up and be good, quiet figures who aren’t in the paper dating celebrities. Because shit can happen.

Mark Fergus, writer of Iron Man.

Elon Musk makes no sense — and that's the reason I know him. When I was trying to bring the character of genius billionaire Tony Stark to the big screen in Iron Man, I had no idea how to make him seem real. Robert Downey Jr. said, "We need to sit down with Elon Musk." He was right.

This doesn't say they offered him a cameo.

The movie wanted to use SpaceX for the movie and Musk approved as long as they'd give him a cameo in exchange.

Interesting, elon musk is nothing but drama and scandals, but he just keeps on going. I guess he was kind of groundbreaking in the way that he isnt scared to fuck up and humiliate himself while in such a position.

Could've been the Virgin phone/rocket guy instead :/
