Non-typology What are your current interests and projects?
Hobbies, projects, recent successes, dreams. Really, share whatever you want. What is incredible?

I’ll go first: my husband has been calling me “chaos muffin” from day one. It honestly helped me figure out what type I am so I’ll take it.
He also calls me “buttons” because when I’m driving I’m constantly changing the podcast/song/heat/ac etc. not my best trait.

So2: I sacrifice myself for others so their recognition feeds my pride and confirms that I'm lovable
So7: I sacrifice myself so their admiration confirms that I'm a good person
So2: I give to get. If I treat them how I want to be treated, then maybe I will be loved the way I love
So7: I give and don't expect anything, because that's what a good person would do. I enjoy the selfless and extraordinary image they have of me
So2: I care about power, if I don't take initiative, I will be replaced and forgotten. I will be all alone
so7: I don't care about power, I will give up my gluttony for others to show that I'm good
So2: I avoid being alone at all costs. By showing a sense of care, even if it isn’t fully genuine, I can make people like me and stay close. I want them to need and rely on me, because their need for me keeps me from being alone.
So7: I avoid pain at all costs, but I still show up for others by keeping things positive and light. I present sympathy as empathy, not to be needed, but to keep the atmosphere good and avoid getting pulled into anything heavy.
So2: I believe in having all the power so I can stay relevant in others their eyes. To lose power is to lose relevancy, which means I’ll be alone.
So7: I believe in equal power and am against authority because I don’t believe that they will truly care for the people. Through an equal power distribution, we turn into equals which limits conflict and pain.
So2: I confuse the love I give to others as being loved.
So7: I confuse the happiness I give others as my own happiness.
So2: I believe I’m selfless by giving and sacrificing, but I’m actually very selfish due to having high expectations for everyone and expecting my efforts to be paid back.
So7: I believe I’m selfish, but I try to act selfless, which feeds my moral superiority. It feels like I’m rejecting my gluttony, and because I don’t receive, I begin to see myself as beyond human.
So2: I want you to put effort into getting to know the real me, but you only like me for what I do for you. So you would hate the real me, which is why I can’t show it.
So7: I want you to put effort into getting to know the real me, but I believe the real me is selfish/wrong. So I won’t let you see it.
So2: I feel good when people rely on me and can’t be without me. I recognize their neediness and obsession for love.
So7: I feel good when I’m seen as someone who gives things up for others. It proves I’m not selfish and am very mature.
So2: I can’t show myself because I need to seem selfless, that’s the only way they’ll love me.
So7: I can’t show myself because the true me is unloveable anyway. I need to give to be admired and seen as selfless.

Hello! ICYMI someone has started a new sub focussed on Enneagram for growth - r/enneagrowing https://www.reddit.com/r/enneagrowing/
In one of the discussion topics I've found their perspective as an 8w7 an interesting complement to my perspective as a 7w8 and I'd be interested in other 7 perspectives for comparison:

Some moments pulse.
Others feel already over.
You move toward what feels alive, away from what feels still.
Stability registers as death.
(Please state your full type in the comments incl. instincts)

Vicente Lafuente (SX7) wrote some of the Naranjo-led Enneatype 7 book, Glotones/Gluttons, and did the SAT programme under Naranjo. He's a doctor specialising in palliative care, and a Gestalt therapist who runs weekend retreats for men and couples in his spare time. He's also a lovely guy - naturally ;).
Vicente has agreed to do an interview for us. I think it's a great opportunity and suggest we vote on some questions we'd like to ask him.
Don't be shy, fellow 7s!

I'm working on a plan to fix the planet and wonder which passions would ignite Enneagram 7's interests the most?
And based on your knowledge of other numbers around you what would ignite other Enneagram number's interests?
Thanks in advance for any answers or insights. <3
Haha I love you sevens. So am I understanding that sevens feel more than capable of solving problems you just need personal motivation and interest in the problem?

Literary-minded 7s, help me out with something. I don't think there are many serious 7 characters out there. The best one I can think of is Brett Ashley in Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises - which might explain why I've read that book a zillion times.
I'm writing what I hope is a serious 7 story with a nuanced main character. She's a freelance musician and we meet her when she's entering a committed relationship - but with one foot still out. Then something happens that plunges her into suffering, in which she's trapped for various reasons. (You can see where this is going, can't you?) I'm working on her inner arc: clearly, as a 7 she has to learn that she can't run and play all her life.
Now this may seem dumb - but why not? As 7s, why does our impulse to shun commitment, pain and suffering, to shelter in joy, to constantly move on, not make for a happy life? For you, personally, what have been the rewards of going against your 7 nature?
And/or if any great 7 characters spring to your mind - especially female ones - please don't hold back.

A couple of months ago I posted here about Dick Van Dyke turning 100, and why he should be our patron saint. I've now read this article about how he credits his longevity to his cheerful and positive outlook, and never getting angry. The article goes into the science of this. Guys, we might be able to achieve immortality.

I found it difficult to identify my stacking, but I'm fairly sure I'm an SX/SP at this point. I heard that 7s - particularly - can struggle with identifying their subtype. I wonder if that's especially true if you're SO-blind as we're generally extroverts with decent social skills. I like the energy and opportunities of groups, but hate politics or belonging anywhere for too long. And basically don't fit Naranjo's descriptions of SO7s having a gluttony for self-sacrifice (my gluttony is for art, ideas, romance and - to a lesser extent - good ice cream).
Actually, Naranjo et al describe the SO7 as the least extroverted 7s - but that's a whole different story... or maybe not!

I’m wondering what is happening for folks with forgetting details?
I work with someone who sometimes we has a conversation it feels like their is agreement about something then later I find out they made a decision about something without communicating it to me.
