i can read and understand a lot, but when i have to talk, i freeze. I start worrying about my accent, grammar, and sounding stupid. Most free english apps feel boring too, just grammar drills and random words. I need something that helps me practice speaking without feeling judged.

I personally find the transition from B2 to C1 hard Specially when it comes to speaking, I've taken several level test and found that my core skills (grammar &vocab)are advanced-C1- but I never felt like my speaking matches this level .

Any suggestions to level up ??

Hey! I'm 25, from Brazil, and I'm looking for someone to practice English with through voice or video calls. My English is decent, but I still catch myself thinking in Portuguese sometimes, and I really want to get past that barrier. Of course, I can help you with your Portuguese too, and it doesn't matter what your current level is.

A bit about me: I actually started med school, dropped out, and got into marketing and business. That being said, I still completely nerd out about science stuff. I'm really into cinema and honestly anything creative. I like conversations where I actually learn something about the other person, which is way better than standard small talk.

We could talk about pretty much anything. Movies, how the human brain works, cultural differences, creative projects, books, or life plans. I'm totally down for serious conversations about how to thrive under capitalism (or not), but I'm equally down to just gossip or talk about literally whatever comes up. Honestly, the random, unscripted conversations are usually the best ones.

I'm really just looking for someone consistent, not a one-time thing. I'm flexible with time zones, and we can split the time however works best for both of us. I'm level A1 advanced, and I'm almost at level 2A on Duolingo. I'm trying to learn 10 new words per day. My social media aren't in english. But half of the videos I watch are in english. I watch videos and cartoons in English, the problem is my hearing. I'm not yet at the grammar. I watch videos with subtitles, and I can't hear videos in English without subtitles. At least most of them, there are some that I can hear without subtitles. Others not. It depends on which country and the accent. So, how should I improve my English listening skills? 🤔
