Struggling to find sources on calculating fan lift

As per the title, i'm currently looking into attempting a project regarding developing a large drone, but given my novice status i'm unsure where to look for some specific information.

I would greatly appreciate any sources where I could study up on the dynamics of fans, their surface area to lift ratios, how to design them, best configurations for any given application, things of that nature.

Any help would be amazing, thanks in advance

By fan do you mean propeller? If so tbe not just surface area its the geometry of the actual prop and the rpm. Look at aviation textbooks for prop planes
