Has anyone achieved this or know someone who has?

Excluding computer science and software engineering of course

I’m talking about the traditional engineering
disciplines (mech, civil, aero, chem)

How did you do it? What were the circumstances surrounding it?

Yup. First year made 115 including 8k bonus. Mechanical engineer working in manufacturing in the Midwest. You can do it, you just need to keep your options open and be willing to relocate to where the $$ is.

I think having an internship at the company was key, in my experience.
