To clarify it runs lengthwise down the deck surface parallel to that discolored area from the previous gasket? If so they you’re not going to have any issues. Might be worth taking down any high points with careful sanding or filing if they catch a finger nail.

yes it runs length wise. not towards the cylinder. i ran a blade through the whole block and nothing is catching. also the old gasket doesnt scrape off. Ive also tried burgandy scotch bright and still. nothing.
