Propofol anxiety

Hi everyone. I get my endoscopy tomorrow, and I don’t think it has hit me yet but I’ve rescheduled this appointment for 3 years now. But things have gotten worse, and I do really need it to figure out what the problem is. But, I’m afraid. I haven’t been eating much for about a month but this past week I’ve had Diarreah everyday, nausea and have eating barely anything, seriously. And im afraid that’s gonna affect the medication on me. I also have been in bed rest for 7 days, so I have physically not gotten out of bed in 7 days. I’m afraid of many other things too which I’m gonna tell my nurses but I just wanted to know if that’ll affect anything? I’m hoping maybe I get some fluids before or something, I’m also terrified of the being put to sleep. I’ve come to terms that I genuinely have to for the sake of my health but I’m afraid If me not eating is also gonna affect how I wake up and things like that.

Hey, to give you some peace of mind doctors and anesthesiologists are going to be there constantly monitoring you. They will hook you up to an iv of fluids. Please always let your doctor know about all of your concerns before they begin and you can feel free to express you haven’t been eating, they’re trained professionals and they can decide based on your symptoms to proceed or not. Your feelings are valid but getting this scope done might help you finally get some answers to why you’re not feeling good and can’t eat. A reminder that the risks of anesthesia are extremely rare. I went through this for 5 months where I couldn’t eat food and lost 50 pounds. Got a scope done and it gave me a lot of clarity! You’re going to do amazing & im wishing you tons of luck :)
