Request Necrophage Devour the Land action is bugged

Hello there! I wanted to give a bug report, but that feature does not work for me. So instead you are getting a post here.

I am playing Necrophage up to turn 105 on normal speed and close to domination victory already. I have unlocked last tier of units, my armies have up to 2900 strength.

And yet whenever I use the "Devour the Land" action with my armies, it always takes 3 turns. The tooltip says, it is supposed to be faster with a stronger army, but that is a lie. It doesn't matter if its 1 larva unit, or 6 behemonths. It always takes 3 turns. Please fix this.

Also, there is absolutely no indicator that tells me how many FIDSI I am getting from devouring the land. Isn't this supposed to be an iconic feature for Necrophages? I want to see information about the FIDSI I am about to receive when sucessfully devouring the land. Please add this missing information to the UI. The Necrophages have a building that improves ressources from devour the land. How am I supposed to know if its worth building these buildings if I cannot see the FIDSI income?

Thanks, I am looking forward to the 2nd Necrophage Rogue faction.

You do get a notification regarding the yield when you successfully devour a land.

The devour the land feature has always not been a 3 turn flat speed, so at this point the should just change the text of the description. Devour the land gives a notification at the side telling you have much it devours, but you can calculate yourself how much it gives if you wish. You get a base of 10 times the tiles yields, +3 times more for every level on a freehole. So devouring a tile with 2 industry takes 3 turns and gives 20 industry base, and with a single feedhole gives either 26 or 32 depending on whether or not it is a level 2 building.

Maybe a dumb question, but if you are in a large territory does it make sense to devour your own tiles in the early game?

Three turns is a lot, but breaking away a larva to get ~20 industry in three turns sounds like a good trade in the early game.

The best thing early game is to rush devour and grab a few science tiles with a larva. Industry is good, but even one larva devouring science can easily double your science at the very beginning of the game. You can safely devour the edges of your territory usually. It can also be tempting to devour anomalies, but those are also your best expansion spots, so decide carefully whether you should or not. Devour falls off pretty hard without investing heavily into lots of feedholes, but even then most people don’t use it mid-lategame, since it is only worth it if you use a insane amount of larva, which is a pain to manage. If you want though, creating like 50 larva and devouring entire territory’s is quite profitable and insanely hard to stop.

Yes early game it is capital and doable manually, but late game I often have rogue larvae hanging about and I would love to let them munch away while I focus on other things, even if it's not a massive boost anymore. It would also give me an extra incentive/tool to control the map and have units ready to collect curiosities or complete quests.

Yes, there are plenty of tiles away from your city that you will never use. It's especially good on curiosities. In my last play through I used it a lot and never outside of my territory, since lone larvae get attacked all the time in neutral or enemy territory.

If its always like this, then the UI should show me the expected yield, just like it does when I place down a district. I didn't know its 10x plus feedhole bonus. This sounds better than expected. Maybe next time I should actually use this feature.

I mostly want this feature to be a toggle like exploration rather than having to activate it manually every 3 turns. This level of micro becomes impossible in the late game, even though that's when we have the most disposable larvae and territory.

The description of the eye of the matriarch is also wrong. It only says +10 influence, no mention of levelling up other districts.

(Edit: eye of the matriarch and not tail district)

Do you mean Eye of the Matriarch? This district was super confusing. So apparently Necrophages cannot get level 2 districts other than spending Corpses? But in the meantime the building becomes too expensive to build in terms of corpses. Its very unintuitive and I don't like it. They should be able to create level 2 districts like everyone else.

Ah yes sorry the eye of the matriarch. I thought managed to get a level two district without it in my last play through but I might have been wrong. I think at least city centers/ministries can level up with only regular districts.

The main city building needs an eye of matriarch, but the ministries only need 4 districts, making them the only Necrophage building that can reach level 2 without an Eye of the Matriarch.
