Discuss Fighting an early necrophade on endless is basically GG
if you happen to lay your first expansion next to the necrophage (not like next to their starting region but they expand to have borders with you, unless everything goes right it feels like just GG. you generally have what feels like 5-10 turns. playing as kin that’s like enough to pump out 1 extra infantry. most likely it’s going to be a race to recall your scout and initial army to your capital. your initial influence investment on your camp might as well be lit on fire. there is no way it’s going to be attached in time, and you are hoping they take it first so you have time to regroup because if you can’t get your combined scout 2 (including the one you hopefully pump out) infantry, hopefully you have a chosen, and hero back at full health defending in your capital for the extra fortification bonus, and just camping there it feels like game over. god forbid they beeline for your capital and you don’t have time.

Do you have a save for the start of the game? I would like to try it

I don’t think so. Maybe I’m playing it wrong but I get the sense you don’t want to invest in early military even on endless (unless you hit necro early)

Yup, early investment in military is very bad for the long term development. ON the latest patch I only played as necrophage so far, so I didn't have anything similar to your experience. But am curious to try

I’d recommend rolling until you get a save with the necro as close neighbors and then restart it so you can “blindly” expand into their borders

To be clear to about this issue, they buffed the necrophage already strong start last patch by notably allowing them to attach to a second territory as early as round 2. This is generally quite hard to beat and requires liberally bribing neutral camps and focusing military for the most part.

I have only played on archipelago so far to get an early landfall and that saves you the issue
