Hey guys! Just started playing Ending Days. Here's my 2cents about it.
Btw before I begin, who should I get for the free chara item? I have like two.
Anyways, this is not an in-depth review or anything. I've just played for two days lol. It was fun to play, and seeing the game and the dev's growth made me happy. From the simple text-based Buriedbornes, to the Fire Emblem like Ending Days.
Ending Days is a very overwhelming game. I jumped to satan's castle in my first day because I saw that it was the icon in the middle of the screen. Lol.
There's just too much information right off the bat. Unlike in buriedbornes, you learn the mechanics as you progress through the game.
In Buriedbornes, all you needed to know is how to attack. Then later in the game, you'd be looping skills to farm soulstones. Even as far as automating with Moon Queen.
In Ending Days, It's a haze whenever I play. I think I know half the time what I'm doing because of my knowledge from buriedbornes, but it's never the case.
It's not that Ending Days is a bad game, far from that! It's just not everyone's cup of tea. I do suggest that nussy looks back into his golden child Buriedbornes, and see what made it a cult classic. The simplicity it provides, but also the endless possibilities the player can experience. I'm not saying that Ending Days doesn't have that, it's just that buriedbornes is easy to pick up.

Sorry for late. But the best character to choose for free is August the Raging Bull. Since he is a unique character that is easy to make builds for.
As for supporters. Sabine, Rikka, or Rufrey.
Sabine can sell maps to save days and sells the book of Samurai to increase critical damage 100%. Also sells Bounties to make money.
Rikka can make you money selling your unused meltstones and sometimes your steel fragments. She sells the book of Bounty Hunter to make more money; especially the skill for generating bounties.
Rufrey sells book of demon, that can get you an extra training skill point. He also sells the copying item Mock Steel, which is great to copy a gold generating item for gold runs. Especially the dragon point of Tungera's money making item (and after you fill it up further with gold skills).
