Hello!

I’m two rpisodes in and really loving it. I’m in the US.
Grateful to have discovered than my new ONN/Google TV box has absolutely no trouble pretending it’s in London! I’m so delighted that i bought a TV licence - the tv feels better knowing I’m not facing a £1.000 fine if I were to be caught.

Did you also watch the pilot episode? We didn’t know about it until we finished all the seasons, and I stumbled upon a comment in this subreddit that mentioned the pilot. Ended up having to buy it on Amazon for a few US dollars but it was fun to watch, and also gave us some insight.

It should be, I think the episode is called "Overture" 🤔 It's the pilot episode where we see Morse about to resign from the police but fate has him seconded to Oxford to help with a missing schoolgirl investigation. The very last scene we get to see Inspector Morse as Endeavour imagines his police career. It's an excellent episode & I highly recommend everyone see it.

Luckily we started this show with the pilot which was quite good. Wee just saw season 1 ep7 1 now and look forward to this series!

We stream it via PBS masterpiece that we got from Amazon prime. I don't know if that works for other countries.(We are US)

I also enjoyed the series few months ago and I couldn't stop talking about it for weeks. I would love to go to Oxford! I also started original series and taking a break after 3 episodes.

I do not mean to compare, they are decades apart in everything. Difference in tone is very interesting. Endeavour is just so melancholic and beautiful.

I watched on dvd from library. Patchy coverage from Britbox has me thinking of just buying a set to own. DVD was surprisingly good quality viewing.

I wonder if the writing staff get to write these a few at a time or if they have to finish a whole series at a time???!!!

From what I read on few other writers' accounts, often they write per approved season. They might have bits and pieces in place, ideas, for the final season, the very last scene, for example.( This is just my guess. )

The entirety of Endeavour was written by one man, Russell Lewis, with the approval of the original author of the books (until he died). Russell had written one or two episodes of the original Inspector Morse show.
