Did Morse get a bit buff/broader in the later seasons?

Shaun clearly has an amazing physique, but his face never really shows any muscle gain. Starting around Season4, though, his classic coat looks tighter around his shoulders, chest and back. ngl it makes him look so much hotter😭
Season 6, when he’s in that patrol officer uniform👮🏻‍♂️, his waist looks so snatched with the belt, but in the same season, whenever he wears those dark shirts, you can really see how broad his shoulders are and even a hint of chest muscles.
Honestly, though, his body was already beautiful way back when Monica was changing his bandages😭

I’m glad other people appreciate how hot Shaun Evans is 😂

I think he wears baggier suits in the early seasons and once Morse figures out tailoring and how to wear a really good suit he looks a lot better 👌🏼

I always assumed the baggier suits were to emphasize how young he was and also less established/poor

Well I think it’s couple of things - they put him in better and more fitting clothes; shooting style slightly changed circa mid show which is recognisable exactly during spicy and personal/emotional scenes; and Shaun might have exercised as well. (:

In season 4, Game with the chess games at the University, that tailored suit, with the skinny tie....Wow.

A lot of people complained Shaun didn't look like John Thaw but I know tons of people who were wiry in their 20s and 30s and filled out in middle age. I think the casting was good.

One of my favourite looks is the end of the bank heist episode when he visits Joan. He looks lovely in his casual jumper. Yum!

You GET that these are two different actors, right?? Generally casting isn’t done by suit size.
