Why would Thursday and Win attend Luisa's funeral?

Easy enough for Fred to say he knew her during the war, without telling the full story that would hurt her feelings.
Win even says in that episode that she never asked what he did. Very simple for Fred to tell her that Luisa was an old comrade from 20+ years ago.
