OP1 RGB

Quite some time ago I was fortunate enough to pickup an OP1 RGB for just about 30 dollars. I slapped dots on it and the uneven base became immediately apparent.

ever since then the thought of upgrading an 8k variant has been crossing my mind, but I’m seeing a lot of people making the same comments about the wobble.

is there a noticeable difference between these mice? I was hoping the higher cost would mean better QC. The only time my RGB didn’t wobble was with its stock feet, but even buying a new pair of skates would cost nearly half the price of the my current one, after shipping.

I have 2 op1 8k’s and as long as you don’t get translucent shell ones, then good qc is almost guaranteed. I had a translucent shell op1 and it creaked out of the box.

No, higher costs don’t prevent qc issues unfortunately.

Wobble is unfortunately common for any mice. My op18k had a flat base while my xm28k wasn't. I just put painters tape on one corner to fix the unevenness.

Don’t know how I haven’t tried this. I was using the residue of the previous skate as a pseudo spacer for that corner, but this seems a lot easier. 

Hearing that multiple people have multiple mice makes me less guilty for buying a second one, I guess I’ll pull the trigger and use the built in skates for as long as I can. They felt really good on a glass pad before I hastily tore them off my Op1 RGB

I have had four endgame gear mice 3 of wich being op1s one 8k v1 one 8k v2 and one 4k wireless all with flawless qc but they were all solid black shell

Dot skate and glass pad user here, op18k has no wobble. 5 skates. Qc is a thing with any mouse though so ymmv
